Find cottages in KingtonVisit Kington

Just two miles from the border between England and Wales, the historic market town of Kington is set amongst the beautiful Herefordshire countryside and offers plenty of opportunities for walkers and cyclists to take in the scenic splendour of the area.

Although Kington is known as a centre for walking and cycling, the area can still be explored by car, if that is your preference; the many country lanes that connect the various villages here being perfect for relaxing drives through the lush, green landscape. Two of the most popular trails for walkers are the Black and White Village Trail, a 40-mile circular route (you don't have to walk it all!) that takes in a host of picturesque villages and the famous Mortimer Trail, which leads from Kington to the town of Ludlow.

The tranquil setting of Kington, deep in the countryside, means that it is equally suitable as a destination for total relaxation, in addition to the rather more energetic pursuits of walking and cycling. The town is home to the Kington Museum, which houses over 6000 artefacts, some from the Neolithic Period, telling the story of the history of the town and the surrounding area. One of the most popular attractions here is Hergest Croft Gardens. The beauty of the four very different gardens that make up this attraction never fails to enchant visitors.

Both Hereford and Leominster are within easy reach for day out exploring and the Beacon Beacons National Park across the Welsh border is also within reach.

Holiday cottages in Kington offer a peaceful, scenic retreat from the stresses of everyday life, so be sure to check out availability today.
