One of the prettiest villages in England, Bourton on the Water is often referred to as the 'Little Venice' of the Cotswolds.

Straddling the River Windrush, Bourton on the Water has a series of elegant low bridges, nestled alongside neat tree-shaded greens and tidy stone banks. The perfect spot for a picnic or stroll, there is plenty to see and do here.

Bourton on the Water has more than its fair share of honey coloured Cotswold houses, many of them dating back to Elizabethan times and now home to independent tourist shops, unique gifts and cafés.

A cottage in this area provides the perfect base from which to explore the villages' past; at nearby The Model Village, there is an excellent miniature model that depicts Bourton on the Water as it was in 1937 using authentic building materials and local stone, or maybe embark on a fascinating journey of motoring throughout the 20th Century at the Cotswold Motoring Museum.
