Find cottages in Bourton-on-the-WaterVisit Bourton-on-the-Water

One of the prettiest villages in England, Bourton on the Water is often referred to as the 'Little Venice' of the Cotswolds.

Straddling the River Windrush, Bourton on the Water has a series of elegant low bridges, nestled alongside neat tree-shaded greens and tidy stone banks. The perfect spot for a picnic or stroll, there is plenty to see and do here.

Bourton on the Water has more than its fair share of honey coloured Cotswold houses, many of them dating back to Elizabethan times and now home to independent tourist shops, unique gifts and cafés.

A cottage in this area provides the perfect base from which to explore the villages' past; at nearby The Model Village, there is an excellent miniature model that depicts Bourton on the Water as it was in 1937 using authentic building materials and local stone, or maybe embark on a fascinating journey of motoring throughout the 20th Century at the Cotswold Motoring Museum.

For a fun day out head to Birdland, home to a collection of penguins and exotic birds, while The Dragonfly Maze offers a huge hedge maze of puzzles and clues the whole family can try to solve.

Come and explore this delightful village for yourself, search for Bourton on the Water holiday cottages today.

Situated in the Central Wolds rich in the limestone that provides so much material for buildings and dry-stone walls alike, this lovely 300-year-old detached barn has been carefully renovated to provide a spacious and highly desirable holiday property. Cheltenham is a superb base from which to explore the full breadth of the Cotswold countryside, its villages, historic houses and internationally famous gardens such as Kiftsgate and Hidcote Manor. With excellent walking opportunities, three excellent golf courses within a few minutes’ drive and the chance to visit the many picturesque villages of the locality, including Bourton-on-the-Water, Lower Slaughter, Stow-on-the-Wold, and the many old inns that abound within an easy drive, this is an ideal spot for a country holiday with a difference.
