The cottages at Luccombe Manor (refs EWV, EWW & EWX) are three little gems, offering guests the perfect, comfortable haven after a long day of exploring the varied and rugged countryside that surrounds them. All three cottages are finished to a high standard with every thought being given to guests’ comfort and enjoyment of the cottages. Set in the pretty National Trust hamlet of Luccombe, situated between Minehead and Porlock, the cottages are set in the grounds of an impressive former rectory. (Manor Cottage, ref EWV, adjoins the owners’ home). Internally the cottages have all the modern convenience one might expect and the cottages are surrounded by the well-maintained grounds of the main house. The comfortable beds, well-fitted kitchens and inviting living space make these cottages a must for anyone wanting something a little bit special for their holiday. Besides plenty of walking from the front door, the cottages are ideally positioned to go out and explore the varied and stunning landscape on offer as well as many attractions. There is superb scenery and walking on the South West Coastal Path or inland on Exmoor to places like Tarr Steps and the village of Withypool. Visit the Victorian villages of Lynmouth and Lynton, famous for the Watersmeet Gorge (NT), Valley of the Rocks and the venicular cliff railway. Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to enjoy as well as a good array of shops and other amenities. The West Somerset Railway is worth a visit for those with an interest in stream engines. Dunster Castle (NT) and village, with its beautiful terraced gardens, deer park and mill will make for an interesting day out as well as Porlock Weir where a pub lunch can be enjoyed overlooking the sea. Just over the other side of the A39 is the National Trust village of Selworthy with its renowned tea room. There are beaches at Dunster and Blue Anchor for all to enjoy. For more active guests, golf, fishing and horse riding can all be found locally. Shop and pub 2 miles.

Set on a quiet country lane in beautiful walking country overlooking the Bristol Channel, Parsonage Farm is the perfect holiday location to ’get away from it all’. There has been a house here for almost a thousand years and that rich history is still evident in both properties. Reputedly, Coleridge wrote ’Kubla Khan’ in Culbone Parsonage, the main house. Parsonage Farm Stables (ref 15800) occupies what would once have been the hayloft floor of the adjoining barn, and Parsonage Otter Stables (ref 18192) has been attractively converted from the old stables. The holiday properties are ideally located as a base for walking, touring and riding on the crown of Exmoor. Alta Lyn Barns are set in a glorious position with far reaching views out to the Bristol Channel, set high above the towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. These three properties (HKKP, HKKW & HMMH) are part of a barn conversion set within the Exmoor National Park. The holiday apartments have been fully restored with exposed beams and rafters. Set amongst some of the most glorious scenery to be found in Devon, plenty of footpaths and coastal walks can be taken from the apartments, which are on Exmoor National Park. Walk through the heather; look out for red deer, ponies and buzzards. The properties are ideally situated for exploring the area. To the west are some of the country’s finest beaches at Woolacombe and Putsbourgh. At Ilfracombe there is the harbour area, Landmark Theatre and an good range of shops and amenities. Visit the Combe Martin Wildlife Park and Watermouth Castle. Travelling east, take a trip into Dunster, 10 miles, and visit the historic yarn market and castle. Minehead, with its sandy beach, is 18 miles. Take in all the small villages close by, such as Blue Anchor, Watchet and Old Cleave and the many NT properties waiting to be explored. Fishing trips can be booked from Combe Martin and Ilfracombe. The villages of Lynton and Lynmouth, with its unique Cliff Railway, are a short drive. Only 8 miles from Woolacombe with its 3 miles of golden sand and Blue Flag status. Barnstaple is 10 miles away, with its famous pannier market in use every day, a tennis centre, leisure centre and many other amenities. Also visit Bideford, situated on the River Torridge and Tarka Country. Trips to Lundy Island can be taken from here. Enjoy a Devon cream tea upon arrival. Shops and pubs 11/2 miles.
