Situated on the edge of Exmoor, Bramble (ref 27386) and Hawthorn (ref 27385) are two delightful, well-appointed barn conversions offering comfortable holiday accommodation for those visiting this stunning and varied part of North Devon. Adjacent to the owner’s home, the properties are well furnished and provide all modern conveniences to ensure a relaxing holiday. With open-plan living areas and some of the bedrooms having en-suite facilities, the cottages cater for both families or friends sharing. Guests can walk from the cottages up onto Exmoor to sample the rugged delights this area has to offer. Exmoor has also been appointed as a Dark Sky area, ideal for those wanting to study the sky at night. The cottages are located a short distance from the Victorian coastal towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. These delightful towns have a good range of amenities as well as restaurants and the famous cliff railway. There are numerous attractions within easy reach of the cottages including Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and Watermouth Castle. At Croyde and Woolacombe you will find some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor has lots to offer including the village of Withypool and a walk up Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor. A day out into west Somerset is recommended with such places as Porlock Weir, Dunster with its castle (NT) and the seaside town of Minehead, home to the West Somerset Steam Railway. In a setting of stunning natural beauty in the Exmoor National Park, with indoor heated swimming pool, Triscombe Farm Country Cottages are a combination of 19th century cottages and skilful conversions from existing farm buildings. Leisure facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, games room and all-weather tennis court (please bring your own racquets and balls). Natural water is provided from our own spring. With unspoilt countryside all around, and reached by a long, sweeping driveway, the country cottages are nestling in a sheltered, wooded valley overlooking the River Quarme. Each of the cottages has been individually styled and equipped to offer comfortable holiday accommodation.

The cottages make the perfect base for holidays at any time of the year. There are five acres of lovely gardens for you to enjoy and explore. A stream cascades through the hillside garden, there is ample space in which to sit and relax, or enjoy a family picnic or barbecue. Spectacular views across the valley to Dunkery Beacon unfold as you wander around. Badgers, buzzards, foxes, red deer and an abundance of birdlife can often be seen, so don’t forget your binoculars. From Triscombe Farm you can explore the magic of Exmoor, an area of wild natural beauty, inhabited by native ponies and red deer. Exmoor Safaris take you right into the heart of this area of heather clad moors, sheltered wooded combes, pretty villages with thatched cottages and ancient packhorse bridges. The National Park rangers provide guided walks.


A few miles from Triscombe is Exmoor’s spectacular northern coast, the highest in Britain, where steep cliffs plunge into the sea. You can enjoy fantastic coastal walks here along the cliff top coastal path, with dramatic views of the coastline and out to sea. From Dunkery Beacon (1707ft) there are panoramic views to Wales, Dartmoor and beyond. Minehead is only 10 miles away with a beach, Butlins, harbour and fantastic steam railway. Historic Dunster (NT castle) is one of the prettiest villages on Exmoor. Porlock and Dulverton offer interesting shops and tea shops where you can enjoy a traditional Somerset cream tea. There are many places to visit locally including Knightshayes Court, a splendid Victorian house at Tiverton.


Other holiday pursuits include fishing and sailing at Wimbleball Lake, and horse riding, mountain biking and hiking across the moor. There is so much to do locally, the owners hope to welcome you back time and time again.

Looking towards Minehead, there is the promenade to enjoy an ice cream whilst walking along, as well as having a good array of shops and other amenities. A visit the enchanting medieval Dunster Castle (NT), with its beautiful terraced gardens, Deer Park and Mill will make for an interesting day out. Situated around the yard of the owner’s small farm, the cottages are an ideal holiday destination for those seeking peace and quiet, but also to enjoy all this stunning area of Somerset. Both properties offer well-appointed and furnished accommodation and also have the extra comfort of a woodburner with a plentiful supply of logs. There is a decked area with each cottage where guests can sit out and enjoy the local surroundings. Watermill Cottage is surrounded by the hills of Exmoor National Park, situated within walking distance of one of the finest villages on Exmoor, with shops, restaurants and tea shops. Porlock Weir is just half a mile away with its quaint harbour and fantastic walks.
