Find cottages in TorquayVisit Torquay

Torquay on 'the English Riviera' is one of Devon's most popular coastal resorts due to its warm climate, buzzing atmosphere and excellent facilities.

Torquay was first 'discovered' by well-to-do Victorians who loved the agreeable climate and long sandy beaches. Today it retains its unique charm with a bustling harbour and sophisticated marina, a lovely pier and promenade where you can stroll and relax with a backdrop of palm trees that make you think you're in the Mediterranean.

Choose from a wide selection of waterfront restaurants and bars where you can chill-out and watch the world go by. From the elevated position of the Royal Terrace Gardens you can enjoy a great view of the town and bay below.

Because of its excellent facilities, plenty of things to do, great night life, visitor attractions and local activities Torquay attracts all ages of visitors, from families to couples and groups.

See the beautiful Pavilion, which is one of many testimonies to the Victorian era; also worth a visit is the spectacular Torre Abbey with its art gallery and beautiful gardens. Step back even further in time with a visit to Kent's Cavern, said to be the most important Stone Age site in Britain, brought to life in a way that's fascinating and fun.

The popular Living Coasts Zoo with an exciting range of animals from land, sea and the air, including a spacious free-flying bird enclosure, or on a smaller scale, get down to the Model Village at nearby Babbacombe.

Search for Torquay holiday cottages today to enjoy a break in the English Riviera.
