Find cottages in HonitonVisit Honiton

The unspoilt town of Honiton is considered to be the gateway to Devon in the South of England. A market town with a thriving town centre, Honiton is well positioned for visiting wonderful coastlines and the National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor.

Easily accessible by road, Honiton town centre has long been a market area, as well as having a strong trade in antiques, pottery and lace. Visitors can lose themselves for days just browsing the lanes and shops. The Allhallows Museum of traditional lace production is worth a visit and tells the town's rich history. A very traditional British town that has maintained its quaintness and charm, Honiton sits alongside the River Otter and is surrounded by natural beauty.

Both Exmoor and Dartmoor are in close proximity, so ramblers, hikers and general outdoor enthusiasts have all manner of options on the table. Dartmoor in particular has a large number of areas where you can go rock-climbing, abseiling or cave-climbing if you fancy something a little more exciting. For those looking to take in the sights, the stunning ruins of Hembury Fort are an unmissable beauty spot, especially when the area is carpeted with bluebells in late spring.

In the evening, there are a number of fine restaurants and bars to keep you entertained and the town centre has a very busy theatre that puts events on all year around. If you are looking for a pleasant mix of natural surrounding beauty and friendly market town charm, then a stay in one of the Honiton holiday cottages might is the perfect option.
