The ancient market town of Holsworthy in North Devon is close to Bude's golden sandy beaches and the spectacular scenery of the South-West Coastal Path, but is also a great base for exploring Exmoor and Dartmoor.

The town centre hosts a weekly market every Wednesday and this is well worth checking out for delicious local produce and souvenirs to take back home. You'll find plenty of cosy cafes, tea rooms and inns where you can enjoy a warm Devonshire welcome or a traditional cream tea.

This really is the best of both worlds - Holsworthy is surrounded by peaceful countryside yet is close to Devon and Cornwall's main attractions, making the town perfect for couples and families with young children.
