The delightful centre of Combe Martin is situated in the heart of a beautiful and fertile valley, with the coastal road that leads to the village giving you plenty of opportunity to take some wonderful scenic photographs. The village itself has a good selection of shops and cafes, while the pretty harbour area is perfect for a gentle stroll. A collection of cosy and get-away-from-it-all hideaways, the cottages are perfect for a romantic escape; or a family retreat. Facilities onsite include shared indoor swimming pool, games and films. Swooping and chirping birds and abundant wildlife make this magical area come alive. Converted from a 17th-century watermill and farm barns, the cottages retain many original features including beams, exposed stone walls and wood burning stoves. Each are brimming over with comfort whilst retaining rustic charm. Hayloft, Dairy, Linhay and Stable are all accessed via the main courtyard, with Lower Mill, Upper Mill and Byre offering superb views. Hayloft, Shippen, Dairy and Farmhouse are pet friendly. Mill Wheel is part of the original watermill, which offers a unique ‘upside-down’ layout. Granary has been converted from the original barn, and Farmhouse is the largest cottage in the complex. All properties have their own private entrance and come fully equipped with everything you need to enjoy a self-catering cottage holiday.

Also well worth a visit is the pretty village of Berrynarbor, just ½ mile distant; situated in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it oozes charm and provides the visitor with tea rooms, a village shop/post office and an old inn (children welcome), all scattered among its traditional thatched cottages. For more extensive facilities, head for the popular harbour side town of Ilfracombe, offering boat and fishing trips to Lundy Island, secluded coves and beaches along its coast, as well as its own theatre, a swimming pool, restaurants and shops. Miles of golden sands await at the resorts of Woolacombe, Saunton and Putsborough – popular with surfers and beach lovers. Alternatively, head away from the coast and explore the wild open moors of Exmoor National Park (5 miles), where wildlife abounds and horse riding is readily available.
