Find cottages in BrixhamVisit Brixham

Forming part of the wonderful English Riviera, Brixham lies at the heart of 22 miles of stunning Devonshire coastline.

The pretty fishing port of Brixham is the ideal location for a family holiday or a get-together with friends. This popular resort has a long and rich maritime history and offers plenty of activities for everyone, so whether you're a beach lover or culture vulture, you certainly won't be stuck for things to do.

Famous for its Napoleonic connections, Brixham lies in the lee of Berry Head, an internationally-acclaimed heritage site with magnificent limestone cliffs and wildlife. Take the time to walk, cycle or park up and appreciate its sheer beauty and breathtaking views.

Back down to shore and you'll find secluded and sandy coves and the only outdoor seapool in the bay. A visit to Brixham Harbour is a must, where over 100 fishing boats land daily to sell their catch at the local fish market on the quayside. Watch the busy comings and goings of the fleet from the viewing platform, while some of the smaller day boats can be seen working at various vantage points around the Tor Bay.

From your Brixham cottage you can explore the town's maritime past at the Brixham Heritage Museum or take a look at the life-size replica of Sir Francis Drake's Golden Hind. You can go on board and take a peek back in time to find out what it was like aboard a galleon in Sir Francis' time.

Come and see for yourself what this lively town has to offer, find Brixham holiday cottages today.

This semi-detached, thatched holiday property is ideal for families to holiday together, whether its a family summer holiday near the coast or a cosy winter break when the town is much quieter. Brixham is an old fishing port and has numerous seafood restaurants. Take a boat trip over to Torquay and visit the theatre, or explore Living Coasts, where penguins wander freely. Brixham forms the third part of Torbay, the other parts being Torquay and Paignton. The bay is known as the English Riviera because of its unique micro-climate, and Brixham shares this mild climate. South Devon’s two cities are Exeter and Plymouth, both are within easy driving distance, approximately 30 miles, and offer their own tourist attractions, historical buildings and shops. Dartmoor is breathtakingly beautiful, at once romantic, mysterious, wild and eerie. Visit the tourist spots, or experienced walkers and navigators can explore the depths of Dartmoor. Dartmouth is the neighbouring town to Brixham, situated on and across the mouth of the River Dart. Take the ferry (car and passenger) across to Dartmouth. Whilst waiting for the ferry, look across to Dartmouth at the Britannia Royal Navy College. Located on a hill above the river, it glints in the sunshine, a splendid backdrop for the river estuary, with its many sailing boats, naval boats and pleasure cruisers.
