The Manifold Valley Trail starts only a few yards from the farmhouse and runs to Waterhouses via Ecton, famous for its tin mines. The River Dove passes through many of the stunning dales including Milldale, Lathkilldale and Dove Dale. The Tissington Trail which runs from Ashbourne to Buxton is within 3 miles. Here, a show can be taken in at the opera house or stroll along the lovely Victorian pavilion and gardens. Antique and craft fairs together with a farmers’ market are often held here. Both the Manifold and Tissington Trail are great for cyclists and cycle hire is available.
