This 300-year-old, granite, thatched Devon longhouse lies detached in a timeless hamlet in the Dartmoor National Park, 3 miles from Moretonhampstead, surrounded by ancient woodland and rolling hills. Didworthy Country House is a most elegant Victorian country house nestling within the Dartmoor National Park in the hamlet of Didworthy, close to the village of South Brent. These three holiday properties (ref’s: 27597, 27598 and 27599) form part of the main house and are positioned around an inner courtyard planted with clematis and pretty colourful plants. All guests have shared use of the owners’ fabulous outdoor heated swimming pool (available July/Aug, 10am to 6pm) and access to the lovely garden complete with patio areas and summerhouse with barbecue. From the pool patio the views are quite lovely and the moors are just a short walk. Many outdoor activities can be organised whilst you holiday here, including horse riding, shooting and fishing. These properties are perfect for those couples and families who are looking for a completely tranquil location in the countryside, and those who love the outdoors will thoroughly enjoy holidaying here. Following the River Avon upstream will take you over Shipley Bridge and up on the moors to the Avon Dam which is a wonderful scenic walk or you could take your bikes and cycle the route.
