Ideal touring location

Set in the small traditional village of Gilcrux, just outside the north west Lake District National Park, these three attractive holiday homes are well furnished and equipped in a contemporary style. Birdwatching and coastal walking can be enjoyed along the Solway, 4 miles. The city of Carlisle, 15 miles, with castle and excellent museum is a good starting point for discovering the World Heritage Site of Hadrian’s Wall, with its interesting exhibition and the history of the Border Reivers from nearby Scotland. The Northumberland National Park, Eden Valley and the North Pennines are all within a scenic drive. Shops 3 miles, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

Grade I listed, the house has been owned by the same family for 150 years and has a long and fascinating history. An addition to the original building was made in the 16th-century and the first restoration was made in 1861, after it was bought by the merchant and philanthropist George Moore.
