For a holiday with a difference, Whitehall is a wonderfully atmospheric 14th-century Pele Tower providing a magnificent setting for a large family or group, perfectly placed for exploring the Lake District and Solway Coast. Grade I listed, the house has been owned by the same family for 150 years and has a long and fascinating history. An addition to the original building was made in the 16th-century and the first restoration was made in 1861, after it was bought by the merchant and philanthropist George Moore.

Set in open countryside with walks from the door, Broughton Lodge Cottage has a very quiet and extremely peaceful situation, except for perhaps the odd duck quacking from the nearby stream!  The drive down the narrow country lanes to the cottage through sheep dotted, quintessentially Lakeland, fields makes it hard to imagine you’ve just left the M6 a few minutes earlier. The medieval village of Cartmel with its’ good traditional pubs serving local ales and homemade food, as well as the renowned L’Enclume restaurant for special occasions, is within easy walking distance (about a mile) and is experiencing increased popularity in the off season as well as during the famous race meeting weeks. Lake Windermere and its attractions are within 15 minutes drive.
Broughton Lodge Cottage is simply charming.  When refurbishing this 18th Century property much thought was given to ensuring original features were retained and that when providing modern conveniences, a traditional feel was kept. The cottage displays a terrific stone flagged floor in the lounge and that all important wood burning stove. The bedrooms are furnished with antique, solid pieces but with quality, modern mattresses to ensure your comfort whilst the kitchen and bathroom boast top of the range fittings.

Ridding Bay Lodge has a jetty and small beach area where you can moor a boat and a picturesque lake side picnic area. There is also a super tennis court, just a short walk from the house so don’t forget your racquet. A children’s climbing frame, slide, sandpit and swings are also available to keep the younger ones amused although we’re certain that some of you older guests won’t be able to resist; at your own risk of course.
Ridding Bay Lodge has been dressed by interior designers so not surprisingly the style, finish and ambience is simply perfect.  Huge windows in the lounge room give way to the tempting views of the Lake. Three good bedrooms, elaborately dressed with luxurious bed linens for that all important night’s rest, have been individually designed, the master suite a particular favourite of the writer, with its huge 7 ft ’tester style’ bed, the perfect place to lie and take in the views, horizontally. Although the Lodge caters for up to six, we do recommend this beautiful property as being most suitable for a honeymoon, anniversary or any other special occasion you are celebrating with your loved one.

Dodd’s Lee is delightful detached farmhouse in the village of Dockray in the heart of the North Eastern Lakes. This spacious cottage is full of character and complimented with excellent facilities. Beautifully furnished throughout to provide a high degree of guest comfort, Dodd’s Lee is a home from home. Dockray is a quiet hamlet with a pub/restaurant just 300 meters from the house and a great location from which to explore the whole of the Northern Lake District, whether on foot, bike or car. Outdoor activity centres at Glenridding, Rookin House and Rheged lie within easy reach. About 1 mile west of Ullswaters Aira Force (a superb walk from the door), Dodd’s Lee is easily accessible from the M6, just a 15 minute drive.
