The stunning location offers plenty of gloriously natural space to visitors and a one-mile walk (which crosses a road) leads to private frontage on the softly lapped shores of Windermere itself. A 2½-acre stocked lake provides free trout fishing and, at the hub of the estate, beautiful Graythwaite Hall’s lovely surrounding gardens are open to the public in the Spring.

The farm stead, from which the cottages have been formed, was built in 1890 and its position was chosen at a time when the popularity of the Lake District was just beginning to rise in wealthy Victorian circles. Thus the tranquillity and beauty which first captivated visitors to this area can still be enjoyed in heavenly surroundings where peace reigns supreme.
Visitors are well placed to explore the extraordinary and dramatic scenery for which the Lakes are so famous.
