The cottage is very welcoming, warm and cosy, with a charming atmosphere. This holiday cottage makes the perfect ’home from home’ and a great place from which to explore this side of the South Lakes. It nestles at the end of a private narrow lane on the edge of the old village, surrounded by woodland. There is a children’s loft den (unheated), which is great for the family with lots of toys and games. On the doorstep is the Duddon Valley to the west of Coniston, arguably one of the ’undiscovered hidden gems’ of the Lake District National Park. There are great family walks from the door in many directions including those taking in the wonderful fells, waterfalls, crags & streams. Just a short drive from Coniston, Hawkshead, Ambleside, Grasmere, Windermere, Bowness, Tarn Hows and the Grizedale Forest. Beach 10 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
