This charming, 18th-century holiday cottage, the middle of three, is set in a peaceful hamlet within an AONB and has a pretty, small, forecourt garden and a larger lawned garden. There are lovely views surrounding the cottage and superb walks from the doorstep, with easy access to stunning landscapes of scars, moors, the Pennine Way and Cow Green Reservoir. The Teesdale poet once lived next door. Nearby are the picturesque Low Force (canoeing by permit), Bowlees Visitor Centre and the dramatic High Force (England’s highest waterfall). The Old Chapel Retreat, a charming, detached, 19th-century chapel has been skilfully restored to retain much character and charm throughout.
