Find cottages in CornwallVisit Cornwall

The county of Cornwall has been attracting holidaymakers for decades and is without doubt one of the UK's most loved holiday destinations, with its rich abundance of natural assets; beautiful beaches, dramatic sea cliffs, pretty fishing harbours and winding country lanes.

Cornwall's unique charm and its stunning countryside and coastal landscapes are easy to access in this compact corner of south west England and you won't have to travel far from your Cornish cottage to find it!

A host of top quality visitor attractions and holiday activities await you and here you'll also find a fine selection of Cornish cottages, suitable for families and couples alike. But before you start packing your bags you might like a few suggestions for things to see and places to go on your break.

The Eden Project is undeniably one of the most popular attractions in Cornwall. This all-weather oasis offers a wealth of stunning flora in an amazing collection of 'biomes'. Or, if you fancy getting out in the open-air then a visit to the Lost Gardens of Heligan is a must.

Padstow is highly recommended for those seeking the fine Cornish cuisine. This lovely coastal town offers an endearing sense of community and, thanks to the involvement of Rick Stein, several fantastic eateries.

For a unique occasion why not take in a play at the Minack Theatre, one of the world's most spectacular open-air venues perched on the cliff side facing the sea. Similarly, St Ives celebrates a rich and varied artistic heritage through its Tate Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden and much more.

With Cornwall's temperate climate its beaches are perhaps one of the biggest attractions; a spectacular coastline extends for mile after mile and whether you want to surf, swim, stroll or just relax, you won't be short of fantastic activities and great seaside locations.

With an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that covers 12 separate geographical areas, walking in Cornwall is a delight. Enjoy the beautiful moorland and towering tors of Bodmin Moor, take a cycle ride down the Camel Trail or gaze out from Rame Head; there's a wealth of wonderful choices.

Alternatively you may prefer to relax and enjoy the comfort offered by a holiday cottage in Cornwall. So start a search for your dream holiday home right now.

Central base for exploring Cornwall

Polmarkyn is a rural small holding property located on the A38 at Trerulefoot. The main house (ref 28916) is a substantial home of superb proportions, the holiday home forming one half of the main farmhouse with the owners living next door. The house dates back to 1816, and was once a ‘longhouse’ with people and animals all living together. It now has spacious and well-furnished rooms and would make a excellent base for a larger family who are wanting a central point from which to explore Cornwall. Just across the rear garden of the main house is a pretty little rustic holiday cottage(ref 28917), converted from a stone barn, once used as a forge or stable. It sits next to the old dove cote and has a quaint rustic charm; it is ideal for a couple and has vaulted ceilings, beams and a woodburner. Visitors with dogs are most welcome here, and to the rear of the farmhouse there is a small orchard with stables available and a 5-acre field ideal for exercising your dog. The owners at Polmarkyn have a smallholding and keep chickens, rabbits and goats, and have an outside aviary with budgies. Polmarkyn is positioned in an ideal location, midway between Saltash and Liskeard, and just 6 miles from the beaches of Seaton and Downderry, where dogs are allowed in the summer. Shop and pub 2 miles, restaurant ¼ mile.

All on ground floor: Living room with beams/dining area/kitchen with tiled floor. 1 double (5ft) bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet.

Freeview TV. Electric cooker. Shared enclosed garden. Parking (1 car). Friday to Friday (for 2013)

Both properties: Woodburner in living room (initial fuel included). Oil central heating £35per week. Electricity, bed linen and towels included. DVD. Microwave. Patio with sitting-out area and furniture. Cycle store. Pets free of charge. No smoking. NB: Situated in a working farm environment.
