The small seaside village of Perranporth has three miles of sandy beach and is a great spot for exploring Cornwall's north coast.

Perranporth is perfect, whether you want action and adventure, or rest and relaxation. There are plenty of walks taking in lush green landscapes and historic local landmarks. If you're looking for a little more excitement you could try surfing, snorkelling, sailing and even kitesurfing or mountain biking.

There are numerous surf hire shops and surf schools to teach you the basics and there's plenty to enjoy on the beach; rest and relax with a book, or explore rockpools with the kids. Discover the caves once used by smugglers, and large tidal pool at Chapel Rock.

There's plenty to do in and around Perranporth; visit the various country markets, try out the tennis courts, go horse-riding or potter around the park and boating lake. Perranporth is ideally placed for exploring further afield including Truro and Newquay which are a short drive away for great shopping and bustling nightlife.

Perranporth and neighbouring Newquay both provide an array of attractions suitable for the whole family from wide sandy beaches, restaurants, beachside cafes, a zoo, Sea Life centre, parks, swimming pools, surf schools, sea fishing, go karting, walking, cycling, horse riding and golf. Padstow and Watergate Bay are also close by and home to Rick Stein’s and Jamie Oliver’s restaurants (booking essential). Further afield will bring you to the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Lanhydrock House and many other National Trust gardens and historic houses. Truro, St Ives, Penzance, Falmouth, Lands End, Padstow, Fowey, and Port Isaac, where the TV series ’Doc Martin’ was filmed, are also close by and all provide an excellent and alternative day out for the whole family. The zoo and Blue Reef Aquarium are also available. Truro is easily reached and is a must to explore the narrow streets and enjoy the restaurants, shopping, museum, cinema and theatre. Padstow, home to Rick Stein’s food empire, is a must visit for all the family.
