The town attracts both families and the surfing community who come here for its beautiful beaches and safe seas. In fact there are 11 beaches in the area to choose from and if you're a surfing novice or just fancy a go, there are numerous 'surf schools' to teach you the basics.

Visitors here will find a lively, buzzing atmosphere, with plenty of places to eat and drink, lots of family attractions as well as a great nightlife. Follow the town trail to get to know the town's heritage and transformation from fishing village to surf mecca.

Apart from surfing try your hand at coasteering, abseiling or rock climbing; tuition is available locally or for more relaxed exercise follow the South Coast Path for great sea views. Maybe hop on one of the boats that in the summer months take visitors on full day and half day trips along the magnificent coastline.

Young families are well catered for; Holywell Bay Fun Park offers a good value day out with the kids; there's free entry and free parking as it operates a 'pay as you play' system or head to the Blue Reef Aquarium to see marine wildlife up close, or of course you could see Cornish marine life in its natural habitat on a sea safari. Relaxing family fun can be found at the Trenance boating lake at Trenance Park which offers 26 acres of gardens and recreation.

Close to beautiful beach

Bramley Cottage and Jasmine Cottage are both 300-year-old cob cottages and Paddock View is a lovely bungalow, all three are well fitted and offer comfortable holiday accommodation. They sit near the entrance to the owner’s small touring caravan park, not visible from the properties, and are situated between the two picturesque Cornish villages of Crantock and Cubert. One of the hidden treasures of the area, the secluded cove of Polly Joke, is just a 30-minute walk. Here either walk the beautiful coastal path and take in the breathtaking views over to Perranporth and beyond, or relax and enjoy the lovely sandy beach - either can be recommended at any time of the year. Newquay with its hustle and bustle lies approximately 4½ miles away and there you will find numerous shops, restaurants and pubs and also a number of visitor attractions. These include the zoo, boating lake and the Blue Reef Aquarium. You can also visit the famous surfing beach at Fistral where many of the international competitions are held and relax and enjoy the views or take a surfing lesson if you are feeling energetic. Set deep in the beautiful Cornish countryside, Trecowthick is a real escape from the crowds, whilst being less than 3 miles to some of the county’s best beaches - most notably Crantock, Holywell Bay and the AONB of the Gannel estuary in Newquay. The area is full of tourist attractions, both man made and natural.
