A little further afield leads to many beautiful beaches on the Roseland Peninsula, all of them providing the quintessential ingredients for that traditional family holiday. The world renowned Eden Project, with its wonderful tropical biomes and unusual plants and flowers is a must for every visitor in Cornwall. The Eden Project also has many events throughout the summer all worth seeing. The hamlet of Pentewan, just minutes from Mevagissey, has a large sandy beach and off-road cycle trail, bike hire, kayak hire and dive centre. Many walks can be taken around this part of the county; from coastal rambles and disused heritage trails that cross the county, to inland wooded walks or something a little more strenuous for the more active. Common Moor is an area of Bodmin Moor bounded by the River Fowey, with beautiful riverside and woodland walks at Golitha Falls, to the west. To the north is pre-historic moorland with stone circles, burial stones, stone age settlements and 18th and 19th century tin mining buildings. Walking, fishing, windsurfing, dinghy sailing and canoeing are just some of the activities that can be found at nearby Siblyback Lake. Both north and south coasts with their rugged coastlines and golden beaches are easily reached as are well known gardens such as the Eden Project and many NT properties. Liskeard, 5 miles, has a choice of shops, restaurants and leisure centre, whilst local pubs offer good value services. Both properties are situated in the small, quiet and peaceful hamlet of Common Moor and offer a very good standard of holiday accommodation with their own private gardens and offer the ideal resting place for visting Cornwall. Little Trevean is a small hamlet of three stone barns lovingly converted and each with their own private hot tub (refs 29436, 29437 and 29438). Adjacent to the owners’ home, they are set in a peaceful rural location overlooking gardens and fields to the sea beyond. The area is popular with walkers, as the barns are just a short walk from the South West Coastal Path leading to a number of picturesque small beaches and coves including Prussia Cove and Perranuthnoe. The properties are just a few minutes drive to the historical town of Marazion, with tea rooms, art galleries, curiosity/craft shops and St Michaels Mount rising from the sea which can be reached at low tide on foot or high tide by small boat. The beautiful, long, white sandy beach of Mounts Bay is perfect for an afternoon stroll, sun bathing, swimming or kite surfing. It is just a 20-minute drive to the beach at Sennen, which is famous for its wild ocean and surfing. Visit the quaint fishing harbour of Newlyn and the picturesque village of Mousehole, legendary Lands End or the Minack open air theatre, cut in to the rock face with the ocean as backdrop.
