The city of Chester combines wonderful historic attractions, a modern cosmopolitan ambience and a wealth of activities within easy reach. Make sure you walk the ancient city walls and in the summer months you can take to the River Dee by rowboat; a lovely way to spend a relaxing hour or two!

Venture into Cheshire's Peak District, which extends to cover 100 square miles of uplands and plains and forms part of the Peak District National Park. Enjoy striking scenery, historical sites, country inns, heather clad moorland and wonderful views. In contrast the adjacent Cheshire plain is noted for its gentler characteristics of a lowland landscape of canals, historic buildings and landmarks.

There's plenty to see and do in Cheshire; maybe spend the day at the world famous Chester Zoo which houses over 11,000 animals, birds and reptiles within 110 acres. This Zoo has been acknowledged for its educational and conservation work. Or if you fancy a flutter check out Chester race course, one of the smaller tracks with a lovely easy going atmosphere.

Tatton Park is a beautiful historic estate with 50 acres of landscaped gardens, rare breed farm and a deer park covering some 1,000 acres; it's a great family day out and look out for their forthcoming events calendar. In a similar vein the National Trust Georgian house and gardens at Dunham Massey are worth a visit.

Cheshire is perfect for getting out and about with great walks and cycle routes, byways and bridleways for horseback riding, waterways and rivers for canoeing, plenty of green parkland and woodland for gentle strolls and historic buildings.

Here, at extra cost, guests may fish and have fly-fishing lessons on lakes that are well stocked with coarse and game fish.
The apartments are well appointed and comfortably furnished, and provide an excellent base for touring and this lovely part of Cheshire. Chester with its black and white buildings and Heritage Centre will provide a very pleasant day out. There are lovely old houses and gardens to visit, a fine museum at Nantwich and Chester Zoo. There is good access to the Welsh borders and coast at Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and Llandudno. Shop and pub 11/2 miles.

A wider range of amenities, including some great bars and restaurants, can be found in the nearby affluent villages of Wilmslow (3 miles), and Alderley Edge (5 miles). Manchester city centre can be reached in around 20 minutes. Other places of interest within easy driving distance include the National Trust’s Dunham Massey and Tatton Park (both 12 miles), Buxton (21 miles), and the historic city of Chester (36 miles).
