From Romans and Saxons to Normans, Tudors and Victorians, Chester's rich history is displayed in its architecture and buildings and walking the ancient walls is an excellent way to get unsurpassed views of the city. Get face to face with the past at the Dewa Roman Experience, where you are promised the sights, sounds, and even the smells of times past. Step forward a few centuries to the magnificent Cathedral or the mediaeval Castle, nowadays with the added attraction of a Military Museum.

Forward again to Tudor times and the Chester Rows in Bridge Street, some of the country's finest examples of 'black and white' architecture, though you may spot one or two Victorian restorations hidden among the authentic originals.

The city's Racecourse is one of the most important attractions in the country, as of course is Chester Zoo, where you can comfortably fill a whole day; don't miss the Bat House, the biggest of its kind in the world.

For horse racing fans, Chester races are also within easy reach. Facilities on site include games room with pool and table football and there is an outdoor hot tub from which to enjoy the pleasant rear garden. Elleray is well located for all the major local attractions including Chester Zoo, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet Village and Blue Planet Aquarium, making it the perfect choice for families as well as couples. Liverpool, Manchester and North Wales are all within an hour’s drive making this a great base for exploring the North West. Leisure facilities available locally include golfing and fishing and there are numerous hotels in the area which offer spa and swimming facilities. Shop, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
