It's also conveniently flanked by the tourist hot spots of Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire and central London is only 35 minutes away by train.

Millions of years in the making, the Bedfordshire landscape varies, from the Chiltern Hills and the Dunstable Downs with its extensive chalk and grassland areas and incredible views, to the river valleys of the Great Ouse.

It's really easy to explore this, one of England's smallest counties, which includes many places of cultural and historical interest.

Many people choose Bedfordshire to enjoy the tranquil serenity offered by the landscape, but there are also plenty of excellent visitor attractions and days out close at hand.
