Property Description

Yeo Farm is a small country estate nestling in the picturesque hamlet of Waterrow on the Somerset/ Devon border at the foot of the Brendon Hills. Walkers and dog owners are welcome at these adult only farm cottages and a dog welcome pack is provided! Comprising some 40 acres of woodland, pasture, ponds and the River Tone, the farm also has fishing rights for over half a mile, and a riverside walk has been made to enjoy the natural flora and fauna present in this area. The 16th-century farmhouse has been restored and is the home of the resident owners, whilst the cottages (Refs ERE, ERF, and ERG) have been sympathetically converted from former farm buildings and comprise three adjoining character cottages which enjoy wonderful views over the estate. The cottages have been renovated and refurbished to a high standard, and offer all modern conveniences and comfort in this stunning setting.
Yeo Farm provides an excellent base for countryside pursuits and walking, with the Brendons, Quantocks and Blackdown Hills nearby. On the doorstep is the Exmoor National Park which has been designated the first International Dark Sky Reserve in Europe (telescope on request). Horses are welcome. Many historic houses and gardens in the vicinity. Coast 13 miles. There is coarse, fly and sea fishing available; golf 4 miles; hard tennis courts and outdoor swimming pool 1½ miles; clay and game shooting by arrangement. Shops 1½ miles, local gastro pub 1 mile.

Double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. First floor: Large living/dining room/kitchen with vaulted ceiling, large gable window and rug on wooden floor.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. The Cottage was equipped to a very high standard and was a pleasure to stay at. A lovely cream tea was laid as a welcome and was much appreciated. Everything you could need had been though off and the washing and drying room was a godsend, especially after long walks in the fields. The immediate area is a black spot for mobile phones (but was a lovely break if you wanted peace and quiet) We would definitely stay there again. Sept 2012.
  2. Excellent accommodation on a lovely farm in a beautiful valley with delightful and attentive owners in close proximity. Plenty of National Trust properties in the area - which we needed during the first four days of rain! Would have liked to have done more walks in order to get to know the area. Not a seaside area - our visit to the Somerset north coast was not inspiring but the 90 mile round trip to Branscombe in Devon on the glorious Friday was worth the effort. August 2012.
  3. We were made to feel very welcome, especially our dog who had biscuits on arrival and a very large fenced field to run around in. Ideal position for lots of walking in scenic countryside. June 2012.
  4. Extremely well equipped property with very helpful owners. The cream tea and bottle of wine on arrival were much appreciated. The provision of basic cleaning materials, soaps, toilet paper etc wer more than one would normally expect to be available in a holiday let. Oct 2011.
  5. Bramble Cottage was the perfect getaway. we had a wonderful time, Robert and Pamela were so welcoming, the cottage was perfect we have already recommended it to friends. Aug 2011.
  6. We have been before and will go again! It is a superb cottage, and in such a peaceful location. It was so lovely once again to have a cream tea on our arrival. Plenty of places to visit and all the brochures are in the cottage for you to plan your trips for the week. The owners are so friendly and helpful and it is a great place to take your dog. A place to get away from it all! Aug 2011.
  7. Lovely ’cottage’, quite luxurious, and beautifully renovated. Extremely helpful owners, and the wine was much appreciated, as was the cream tea! The area was great for walking and there was far too much to do and see in the time we had(1 week). Lots of walking with bridleways and public footpaths on your doorstep. The outside tap and hose was great for getting the ( copious!) mud off our walking boots, and the ability to hang sodden jackets and waterproofs up to drip dry in the utility room was very helpful ( we had a LOT of rain!). Lovely old castles, houses and gardens to look round, particularly enjoyed Cothay Manor gardens..our one very sunny day!Would have liked to stay longer. June 2011.
  8. We loved Bramble Cottage with all its comfort and charm. The farm provided peaceful riverside walks and strolls to the nearby pub. The dog was made very welcome and the spacious lounge and kitchen provided an excellent area to relax. The farm has no mobile phone signal and most of the main Exmoor sites are an hour away. But overall the cottage is superb and the best we’ve stayed in to date. May 2011.
  9. Absoultely wonderful. So clean and stylish. Made exceptionally welcome and it was just the peaceful, relaxing fabulous environment needed to switch off. March 2011.
  10. The cottage was amazingly clean and so well equipped. Such a treat to stay in such a wonderful cottage, with wonderful surroundings and be able to take our dog. It must not be missed. Nov 2010.
  11. Well presented accommodation. Excellent layout. Both bedrooms en suite. Oct 2010.
  12. Clean comfortable and very well equipped, lovely peaceful situation, best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Sept 2010.
  13. The accommodation was perfect. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. Everything was really clean, comfortable, and the view through the lounge window was lovely. And our dog had a field to run in all to herself! Excellent information, books, games, and dvds. So well thought out. Lovely spacious bathroom. Scones, clotted cream and jam on our arrival were most welcoming. Sept 2010.
  14. Very nice property in very attractive grounds. Sept 2010.
  15. Clean, high spec, spacious. July 2010.
  16. The owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The accommodation was in excellent condition and a delightful aspect. Walks could start from the front door of the accommodation without the need for any driving during the whole weekend. June 2010.
  17. A very beautiful cottage. May 2010.
  18. The kitchen was large and spacious and very well equipped so is excellent for the keen cook. The view from the picture window in the living area was beautiful. March 2010.
  19. Spotlessly clean, comfortably furnished, kitchen very well equipped and hosts very welcoming! Dec 2009.
  20. We felt really comfortable in the cottage as soon as we walked in, so bright and airy and every thing we required. It was also having a warm welcome from the woner and the scones cream and jam was a lovely suprise. Oct 2009.
