Property Description

Magnificent position

Set in a magnificent position within the Dales National Park Conservation Area, overlooking Gayle Beck and waterfalls, this holiday property dates back to circa 1800 and was originally part of the storage and yarn knitting industry associated with the nearby Gayle Mill. The beamed living room with its cast iron flame effect stove makes a cosy retreat from the surrounding hills whilst the kitchen offers every modern convenience.

Also in Hawes you can visit the Dales Folk Museum, the ropemakers, the pottery or the famous Wensleydale Creamery.
Yarn House is ideally located for visiting the local dales, the Lake District, York, Northumberland and the historic houses, castles and abbeys of Yorkshire.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Accommodation was excellent, well thought out and all you could possibly need was provided. June 2012.
  2. This house was very well-equipped, warm, comfortable, homely and full of character. Beautiful location - quiet and very scenic, but within easy walking distance of shops/pubs etc. There’s no garden, and there’s not a great deal of space within the property (the rooms are fairly small and full of lovely furniture), but this should not be a problem if you’re spending all day exploring the surrounding countryside and villages and want somewhere cosy to return to in the evening. April 2012.
  3. Excellent place to stay. Everything in the house that you could wish for. Facilities first class. Wonderful location. We will definitely be going back again!! March 2012.
  4. The cottage was beautiful. Much better than the pictures. It had everything we needed and more for our holiday. Good location with lovely surroundings and it was only a short walk to the centre of the village and only a short drive to the local tourist attractions. I would definitely reccomend this cottage to anyone wishing to visit that area. Feb 2012.
  5. A very well equipped cottage which was cosy and comfortable. Just watch the stairs. Aug 2011.
