Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Fantastic location, well situated for accessing major attractions, lovely well equipped cottage, perfect for two people, excellent support from the local contact who was very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend. Sept 2012.
  2. A very comfortable and tranquil retreat, on the Camel Trail and well situated for touring the surrounding area. The quality of the cottage was excellent and the people on site were very helpful. I excellent area for walking (especially the costal path between Boscastle and Tintagel) and cycling along the Camel Trail. Wadebridge is very pleasant and also enjoyed visiting St Mawes and the Roseland Peninsula and the Eden Project. Would definately go again if we could face the 400 mile journey! May 2012.
  3. Amazing scenic location, really warm and friendly welcome. The property set in woodland with everything you would ever wish for from a self catering property. March 2012.
  4. A fantastic quiet retreat. Walking to Wadebridge on the Camel Trail, and not having to worry about parking was great! An absolute highlight was listening to the owls hoot at night, they even woke me up once, a real privelege. Oct 2011.
  5. Beautiful cottage in a fabulous picturesque location. Really well appointed and excellent base for getting round the whole of Cornwall. The pool and sauna are an added piece of luxury. Literally yards from the Camel Trail for any cyclists out there. We can’t recommend this cottage highly enough, fantastic holiday. Sept 2011.
  6. We enjoy a quiet holiday in fine English countryside and this was ideal. The cottage is small (but ideal for two) and excellently furnished and equipped. The owners are caring well for the fields and woods that they own around this cottage. The swimming pool is excellent and underused - I swam solo every day. Dutch - the ’caretaker’ - is a really nice guy and does his job well. A highlight was when I walked half a mile to the River Camel and watched an otter for 15 minutes (and saw Kingfishers every day). Aug 2011.
  7. The cottage was excellent - the surroundings wonderful. One disappointment - the television reception failed within a day or so, and dispite the efforts of the man on site was never repaired - as it rained a great deal we would have welcomed a TV. July 2011.
  8. We found the property truly lived up to its name. It’s very well appointed, very pretty and cosy with sunlight streaming through all the windows. A delight. I have already recommended it to a friend. May 2011.
  9. The cottage has been sympathetically converted. It overlooks a quiet beautiful valley beside the Camel river and trail. It is much quieter than the stretch of the trail between Wadebridge and Padstow. If on foot or bike there is a very steep hill up from the trail. April 2011.
  10. Woodland Retreat is an absolutely marvellous place. The location is wonderfully quiet and the cottage itself finished to a very high standard. Its brilliant to wake up to the view across the hillside and when the evenings are warm (we were lucky in April) sitting outside is a real pleasure. April 2011.
  11. Gorgeous little cottage in beautiful surroundings. Perfectly allowed us to relax and unwind while looking at some of the attractions in Cornwall. Feb 2009.
  12. The setting is very peaceful and the grounds are amazing. If you’re truly looking to get away from it all then this is a brilliant choice. May 2009.
  13. The cottage was much better when we arrived then on the website presentation. Rate 10 for 10. March 2009.
  14. A modern cosy cottage set in a beautiful woodland location. Perfect for a relaxing holiday. Aug 2008.
  15. Beautiful location, ideal for walking. 2 minutes’ walk from the property and you’re on the Camel Trail; 5 minutes’ walk from the property and you’re in a beautiful pine forest. A great location for bird watchers, too. Feb 2007.
  16. We have stayed in this property twice now as we have enjoyed it and appreciate the high standard very much. We would highly recommend this property, cleanliness and peaceful location. July 2006.
  17. The properties were in an amazing setting, with nothing to fault the outside or inside of the cottage. The gardens were immaculate, with the caretaker being very polite and considerate. The owner of the cottage was very nice and gave us an excellent present for our honeymoon!! Its an ideal location for a relaxing break in the countryside. May 2006.
