Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Excellent location. Very easy walking into Fort Augustus. Everything about the cottage was very good. Has everything you will need. June 2012.
  2. So peaceful here, with only the sounds of the birds in the garden. Cottage has walls 3 ft thick so very snug and cosy. All mod cons and well equipped. Ideally situated, close to town but away from any noise. Fort Augustus central for so many places but is interesting in itself. Would recommend the Boathose restaurant to eat, overlooking Loch Ness and with an interesting menu and open all day until 9pm. Can just have a coffee there or three course dinner. Reasonably priced. Invermoriston is lovely for walking about 5 miles away (saw red squirrels here) and Glen Affric about 20 miles away also beautiful.Cable car up Nevis Range is excellent. Take a wonderful trip from Fort William to Mallaig over the viaduct at Glenfinnan (seen in Harry Potter films) and enjoy spectacular views including wildlife, eagles and deer. It is 57 miles from cottage to Skye along winding roads but breathtakingly beautiful scenery. On Skye, cross the free road bridge and go to Portree and take a boat out to see the sea eagles, ( only 11 breeding pairs in Britain), seals, porpoise, dolphins. There is so much to see and do here, we were glad that we had booked for a fortnight and had the most wonderful and amazing holiday. Would love to return here. June 2012.
  3. We have been to Woodbine cottage 9 times and still love going there. We are keen mountain bikers and find it’s location ideal for accessing the forests and trails. The cottage is very comfortable with all the necessaries you need for a great holiday. Having a washer and drier is a godsend especially when your clothes are muddy from a day in the saddle! Fort Augustus is a great village with plenty of good eating places, an excellent butchers and good shops if you run out of essentials. April 2012.
  4. Plenty of parking space - would probably take three cars. The local butchers shop is excellent, but be warned, it is not open on Mondays. Sept 2011.
  5. Very quaint, excellent location. Decor a bit dated. A welcoming bottle of wine and shortcake, a lovely touch. Aug 2010.
  6. Property was in a wonderful location, down a quiet lane but only minutes from the centre of the village. Secure secluded garden with nice seating area. Property clean and spacious. Would definitely go back. July 2010.
  7. Close to amenities. July 2010.
  8. Clean, well presented and a really good location. Close to facilities and the canal, loch and river. June 2010.
  9. Nice furniture, kitchen and living room very well equipped, nice and spacey bathroom. Very clean and situated in a calm area, but near to town. We felt very much at home! June 2010.
  10. This house was ideal for my family. It had everything we needed. Very comfortable and warm. Very clean also. In an excellent location, for both Fort William and Inverness. The enclosed garden was suitable for young children. Would recommend. Would book again. March 2010
  11. Fort Augustus is a charming village with plenty of activity - we loved the powerboat, the ceilidh, seeing the locks in action and nice local pubs and shops. Woodbine Cottage was ideally located just a couple of minutes from all of these. Spacious cottage, well appointed with everything we needed. Clean and well maintained. Thoughtful welcome pack of wine, milk and biscuits. Lovely garden, handy parking space. Aug 2009.
  12. Spacious cottage, very well equipped. Aug 2009.
  13. An excellent base for exploring the Highlands. Would recommend this cottage and location. July 2009.
  14. Well-appointed and equipped, very clean. Comfortable beds. July 2009.
  15. This was our third time at Woodbine Cottage and it was as good as previous visits. This time the weather was excellent with temperatures of 25c. June 2009.
  16. Very well equipped and situated in a quite location but still within easy walking distance of all the village facilities. June 2009.
  17. Beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. Within 5 minutes of the Loch, yet it felt like the middle of nowhere. Aug 2007.
  18. An excellent cottage in a great location. Have stayed here eight times and will definitely go again. Home from home. March 2007.
  19. Excellent location and local facilities. July 2006.
