Property Description

In an elevated, rural postion, detached Wood Cottage, renovated to a high standard, enjoys spectacular views towards Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire. Access is via a working farm, and guests can enjoy exploring the two mature woodlands. This is an excellent base from which to discover Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire which have a wealth of activities. A short drive leads to Ludlow, famous for its castle, festivals, quaint streets and open markets; it also has an abundance of restaurants and eateries, some Michelin starred, and is a definite ‘must’ for a visit.
The area has a wealth of National Trust properties including Berrington Hall, Croft Castle, Hampton Court Gardens and Brockhampton Estate, all within easy driving distance. Enjoy a day out to the cathedral cities of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester and the abbey town of Tewkesbury. For the more active, there is golf, horse riding, swimming and canoeing available locally and Offa’s Dyke, the Malvern Hills and Brecon Beacons are within easy reach. Book lovers can enjoy a trip to the renowned town of Hay-on-Wye, whilst theatre lovers can visit Malvern or Stratford-upon-Avon. For the young at heart, the West Midlands Safari Park is 1/2 hour away. 1. This property was very comfortable and of high standard in a quite peacful location. Plenty of room both inside and out for children to play safely. May 2012.
  2. Stunning location. Our second holiday at Wood Cottage. Please be aware that the property is within the confines of a working farm; for us that added to it’s charm; that may not be the case for others. June 2011.
  3. Clean, comfortable, plenty of space and child friendly. The house was very good for little ones (quite safe to wonder around from room to room) and the outdoor yard was also good for older ones. Lovely nature walks to do as well as a short stroll to the farm where the children could enjoy seeing the animals. Bring your wellies! Feb 2011.

  18. This new cottage ticked all the boxes for us all on this holiday and even the poor weather could not dampen our enjoyment, it will be a great place to return to in finer weather. Nov 2007.
  19. The farmhouse was in a wonderful setting and as described in your brochure had use of it’s own wood, which we found very good. The owners were very friendly and welcoming and gave us all the information that we required. I would recommend this farmhouse for it’s comfort, size and location, and would definately book for a return trip. March 2009.
