  1. WOW !! What a fabulous location felt so peaceful and secluded yet only 10 minute drive into Kendal. The accommodation was very clean and all linen/towels provided where lovely. We settled in as soon as we had put down our bags, it just felt like home. Shortbread on arrival was a lovely touch. Lots of kitchen utensils which made meal planning so effortless. There are lovely walks from the lodge. The stream is a bonus and has a little bridge behind the lodge that we discovered whilst out walking. This lodge felt well maintained and had a modern but comfortable feel. The best chip shop I have ever visited was The Keswician chippy, it has a restaurant so you can have a sit down meal,if you are in that area it is so worth a visit. We also visited The Watermill Inn which also serves great food for pub grub, they brew their own ale which is lovely. The pub has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, a great beer garden and it is both child and dog friendly. It is only about a 15 minute drive to Ings. June 2012.
  2. Excellent location for peace and quiet, lodge very cosy and warm excellent for dog owners as the lodge is surrounded by a fence. Lovely views. April 2012.
  3. Super, extremely comfortable little lodge. Very quiet, and cosy. Good range of books supplied to read/ games to play. Everything you need as a home from home. Mobile phone signal is almost non existent, but maybe thats a good thing. Directions to location good although slightly out of date with regards sign on main road etc. Put in postcode and iphone tooks us straight to the door. Highly recommended even for a weekend. Will return without fail and thats without venturing far. Jan 2012.
  4. My wife and I had an excellent 4 day break, just what we needed to recharge our batteries. The weather wasn’t excellent but that was to be expected in January in the Lakes. The only disappointment that I had was that I was expecting an Englwick fire, but it turned out to be electric so we couldn’t have our log fire! Apart from that a most excellent venue and just what the doctor ordered. Jan 2012.
  5. Lovely cabin and setting. Very peaceful and relaxing. The apple pie on arrival was lovely and gave a warm welcome. Have already booked for next year. Nov 2011.
  6. Well presented property, lovely setting, owners really helpful and pleasant, we would go again. Sept 2011.
  7. Fantastic place in a setting away from the everyday hum drum. The lodge was amazing very well equipped, clean and welcoming. The apple pie on arrival was a lovely touch, only minor hiccup is the water supply, its slow and hit and miss, but if you plan for it, its not a problem. We had a fantastic holiday, 2 adults, 1 child and a dog, it was great for all of us. Aug 2011.
  8. The property was perfect for our mini break. Beautiful location although we would have liked more sunshine and less showers ! All facilities were excellent. May 2011.
  9. The property was in a beautiful setting, away from the beaten track, which allowed for some real relaxation. The property was well maintained and tastefully decorated in a contemporary style. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Whitwell Lodge.
  10. Nice quite location, excellent facilties and lovely atmosphere and public walks. The apple pie on arrival was a really nice and appreciated. The only improvement could have been a bigger television. March 2011.
  11. Excellent property well maintained and property, furnishings and contents of a high standard. Oct 2010.
  12. It was compact but very comfortable and had everything you needed. Sept 2010.
  13. Property based in a very tranquil area, wooden patio area and own car park facility a plus. Sept 2010.
  14. The lodge was utterly charming and beautifully warm in the coldest weather of the year. We loved the peaceful setting and proximity to the rural environment; the frost and snow made us feel that we were in "Narnia". The entire holiday was a unique experience. Nov 2010.
  15. Peaceful location. June 2010.
  16. Very restful and secluded. May 2010.
  17. I can honestly say the property we stayed in was absolutely fabulous, it ticked all our boxes as a family. It was very clean and spacious and provided the safety we required for our son and our pet dog Maximus. Privacy was excellent as we were enclosed by trees and the views speechless, all we could hear were the birds singing. May 2010.
  18. Good location, peaceful, owners very helpful. April 2010.
  19. A wonderfully secluded retreat. April 2010.
  20. Well equipped, secluded and comfortable. March 2010.
