Property Description

This delightful Grade II listed cottage is situated just a few minutes’ walk from the magnificent castle, within the heart of historic Warwick. Dating back to the 1500s, the cottage has been carefully modernised to retain its period character with ancient timbers, and even original pick axe marks still visible in the stone walls of the cellar. Tastefully furnished and well equipped, this idyllic, cosy, holiday hideaway is only a short stroll from a wide selection of shops and restaurants. Although adjoining another property, the cottage has its own secluded, pretty garden in which to relax after a busy day’s sightseeing in Stratford (10 minutes), Leamington Spa or Kenilworth. Shops 100 yards.

Eight steps to entrance. Charming beamed living room with sofa-bed (for +1). Spacious beamed fitted kitchen with Belfast sink. Two steps leading to dining room/conservatory with door to garden. Steep, narrow steps to cellar. First floor: Attractive double bedroom with TV, brass and iron bedstead (child’s airbed available on request, alternative sleeping only). 1. Well situated in the middle of Warwick ideal for shops and bus station. Very cosy and warm and had everything that we needed. A home from home. May 2012.
  2. This was an excellent 2 up 2 down town property very convenient for Warwick and the surrounding area. March 2012.
  3. Less than 5 minutes walk from Warwick town centre. There is a good choice of restaurants to satisfy all tastes. Nearby Leamington Spa is also very worth a visit, and can be reached by signed riverside walk if feeling energetic. Sept 2011.
  4. Small but very comfortable and well appointed and equipped cottage in a great location.Tina made us very welcome (with cake!) and gave us lots of help and information. There was one small problem which was fixed quickly and cheerfully. We would definitely stay again. Warwick is great for history lovers. Stratford is very close. The castle is an excellent attraction, but expensive : look out for offers before you go. Also recommend Lord Leycester Hospital (almost next door!) and the Parish church. Warwick Spice is a really good Indian restaurant. All in all a most enjoyable week. Aug 2011.
  5. The cottage just felt like a ’home from home’. Everything was catered for. The location is ideal for exploring the local region, it is very tastefully furbished, spotlessly clean and we would definitely recommend it, and would go back tomorrow!!! April 2011.
  6. For two people it provided all we required for self accommodation without feeling cramped. We were able to seat four round the dinner table when having a family meal. The property was well equipped with kitchen equipment and washing and drying facilities. Nov 2010.
  7. Small but perfectly formed. Nice little personal touches. Fantastic location. Oct 2010.
  8. It was a beautiful character cottage, well furnished and spotlessly clean. Aug 2010.

  13. It was right in the centre of Warwick only five minutes walk from the castle, bus station and old town centre. The property was beautifully kept and furnished, with a very warm welcome. What a joy it was to find sharp knives in the kitchen, we couldn’t fault anything. Oct 2009.
  14. The cottage was excellent in all respects. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Warwick is a very interesting place to stay and the cottage is in a central location. Sept 2009.

  18. The accommodation was 1st class - fresh flowers in vases all round house, milk, tea & coffee left plus the owner had baked a cake for us & left it - Wonderful. May 2008.
  19. It was a peaceful holiday and the accommodation was excellent, the owner kindly left some cake and milk in the fridge for us on our arrival! May 2007.
  20. The cottage was full of old world charm but modern conveniences. Because it was in the heart of Warwick we walked to many places or travelled easily by public transport. I would certainly go back to Warwick and to Westgate Cottage. March 2006.
