A detached holiday bungalow in rolling green pastures. Ideal for visiting Glastonbury with its Abbey, Chalice Well, and the Tor with its remains of the 15th-century church. Shepton Mallet, approx 3 miles, offers varied shops, restaurants, and the floodlit carnival in November. Within 3 miles of Royal Bath & West Showground, venue of many interesting events throughout the year. Cathedral city of Wells approx. 5 miles. Nearest beaches at Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea, both approx 20 miles. Bus stop 2 miles. Train station 9 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub 1 mile.

  1. A great place for a peaceful holiday, but also within easy travelling distances to Glastonbury, Wells and Shepton Mallet. Situated in rolling fields, the only neighbours are the cows, who make an interesting moving landscape as you sit in the conservatory having afternoon tea and cake. Walter’s Cottage is spotless and the garden is securely fenced for your dogs or children or both! Sept 2012.
  2. Not easy to find, but worth seeking out if you love rural isolation and local wild-life. We saw barn, tawny and little owl in adjacent fields. Property is basic rather than luxurious, with two bedrooms, and separate bathroom (shower over bath) and loo. Friendly cows over garden fence! July 2012.
  3. This is the second visit to the property and each time we have been impressed with the quality of the cleanliness. The fact you have an overflowing fruit bowl and biscuit barrel, plus tea, coffee and fresh milk in the fridge is an added bonus. The welcome is always friendly, then you are left in peace, to come and go as you please. I would highly recommend a visit here to anyone. May 2012.
  4. This cottage is just what we wanted, it is very remote and tranquil. We loved the open fire and the cows would wander right up to the fence on a morning. A lovely stay and we recommend this to anyone who is looking for a peaceful break. March 2012.
  5. We had a wonderful short break at Walters cottage, arriving in the dark of evening to a clean and cosy home from home. We woke in the morning to discover a landscape of rolling hills and birdsong.The fruit bowl, tea, coffee, biscuits and milk left by our host on our arrival was a lovely touch. A Beautiful stay and highly recommended. Feb 2012.

  7. Well equipped and maintained cottage with a south-facing conservatory ideal for watching birds and cattle in adjacent field. Unexpected extras left by owner - fruit, biscuits etc. Oct 2011.
  8. The cottage was very well maintained and the owner was there to meet us upon our arrival!! There were basic kitchen essentials already insitu, tea bags and milk to get that important cup of tea! There was fresh fruit and flowers as well. We requested a travel cot for the holiday and a proper cot was provided! It was a fantastic holiday and would highly reccommend others to stay there too!!   19. This was an excellent cottage if you like peace and quiet,and be in touch with nature. The cottage was in very good order and had lots of utensils and little touches ie Beverages,Fruit Bowl,flowers, feed for birds, If you have a car it is quite close to many attractions. March 2010.
