Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Couldnt fault property. Nice little finishing touches flowers, fruit, wine and a bottle of milk in the fridge. Tea, coffee, sugar and the all important loo roll. Nicely decorated and furnished. Outside was nice and a small courtyard for our use with table and chairs, sadly the weather didnt let us sit out!! Oh and the use of a tumble dryer which helped. June 2012.
  2. What a great place to rest and relax. The accommodation was just what we needed - everything one would need for a comfortable holiday. The owners who lived in the adjoining barn conversion were extremely helpful and caring. They were very focussed on customer service and gave us some brilliant ideas for touring the lovely area of East Devon and beyond. We would have no hesitation in recommending this holiday. May 2011.
  3. We were very pleased with the accommodation which was better than we expected, (the photos don’t do it justice). It was chilly on arrival but the heater was very effective as was the central heating later in the day. We thought the layout of the lounge/diner/kitchen was nicely done giving plenty of space. We were very surprised to find tea, coffee, sugar and milk on our arrival, together with condiments. We were even more surprised to find a bottle of nice wine and a bowl of fresh fruit, which was a very nice touch.Too often on holidays the bathroom lets the establishment down, even in in 4* hotels. This was not the case here, with a roomy bathroom and a good shower, always a bonus. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well. The only gripe was that the pillows were far too soft, which I don’t think I mentioned in my comments in the visitors book.We enjoy pub meals when away and were very disappointed with the standard of pubs in general in this area. In Honiton itself we ate in the Honiton Wine Bar which had a good choice of tasty food.It is worth visiting the Tourist Information office in Honiton, and if you enjoy walking, pick up a copy of "Walking Trails in Devon". The directions in this booklet were very easy to follow and made life simple. We only had time to complete Walk 5, beginning and ending in Colyton, outside the Colcombe Castle pub. If you finish the walk in time for lunch, ignore this pub and go down the hill to the Kingfisher. This is a good old fashioned pub with good food. We went into Colyford on the strength of the lunch to buy sausages from the local butcher. March 2011.
  4. A really lovely home from home. Clean well presented. Flowers, wine and fruit on arrival very welcome. Location good but some road noise could be heard outside. Inside very quiet so not really a problem. owners very friendly and considerate. April 2011.
  5. The cottage was finished and furnished beautifully with quality throughout. Everything was exactly as you would find at home, not usually true in a rental property, making our stay very enjoyable. I can’t think of one negative thing to say! Oct 2010.
  6. Comfortable and stylish. Oct 2010.
  7. The scenery was superb and for a couple or a single person like myself was delightful all I needed and more besides. The thoughtful milk and bowl of fruit as a welcome was lovely and the wine very enjoyable felt at home straight away. Sept 2010.
  8. This cottage is excellent. We had a lovely basket of fruit and a bottle of wine on arrival. Plus milk etc. Very convenient location. Will definitely use again if in the area. Sept 2010.
