Manor Mill nestles amongst the soft green hills of Somerset and occupies the south side of an enchanting wooded valley, beside the River Tone. This converted water mill and its neighbouring barns, which date back to the 17th century, have been sympathetically converted to provide charming, comfortable and well-appointed self-catering country cottages with picturesque views of the river. The extensive 3½-acre grounds surrounding the mill are a haven of fields, water meadows and delightfully cultivated gardens, with many beautiful and rare shrubs, and is a haven for wildlife of all kinds.
Each of the six charming holiday cottages is well equipped including all linen and towels. Manor Mill has a secluded heated indoor swimming pool with an outside sun terrace, and a stone barbecue which offers the perfect way to spend a relaxing afternoon or evening - eating or drinking to the accompaniment of the rippling sound of the River Tone. The children’s play area is a haven for fun, complete with swings, slides and a miniature fortress. A selection of video, board games, books and magazines are also available to borrow. The extensive grounds and idyllic surroundings offer a wonderfully relaxing location and a delightful rural retreat.
Manor Mill, located on the Devon border, provides an excellent base for touring the West Country, with easy access to the Quantock Hills, the coast of south Devon and north Somerset and on the edge of the glorious wilderness of Exmoor. It offers a delightful and rural location and a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere - the perfect antidote to everyday living.
A private dining lodge, located in a secluded part of the grounds, is also available for hire. From private celebrations, to weddings and children’s parties, the lodge can accommodate up to 20 guests. The resident owners can adapt food, drink and room dressing requirements as requested.
Personally attended by the owners who live within the grounds, all six cottages at Manor Mill are furnished and decorated to retain the original character of the mill. Shop 3 miles, pub 500 yards.

  1. What a lovely place to go to for the weekend, Manor Mill turned out to be a great spot for a last-minute long weekend. Mum and Dad could relax by the stream with a glass of wine and be within baby monitor range. The two-year old loved the trampoline, the indoor pool and feeding the various free-range animals (which we weren’t expecting). The pub just down the road was an excellent place for Sunday lunch. Whilst, all six cottages were occupied it didn’t feel crowded or busy. A lovely relaxing family-friendly place. July 2011.
  2. Compact and comfortable, would have been a bit of a squash with 3 or 4.Welcome basket much appreciated as we weren’t very organised! More free-range eggs from Mill’s hens and ducks were enthusiatically purchased after rediscovering boiled eggs for breakfast! Huge selection of videos/dvds available in laundry room. The water meadow is a lovely place to de-stress and recharge the batteries. April 2011.

  4. It was very clean and we were made welcome. It was in a beautiful setting and a lovely area within easy reach of shops etc. The package in the unit ie walks, where to eat etc was extremely good and accurate. Sept 2010.
  5. An amazing garden with a brook and a water meadow, chickens to feed and fishing from opposite our front door. Aug 2010.
  6. Very attractive and spacious with good provision of crockery, cutlery, tea,coffee etc.. Very quiet countryside surrounding the property. A downstairs bedroom for the most elderly of our party. aPRIL 2010.
