Property Description

Set in a 14-acre vineyard, with a further 20 acres of woods, pasture, lake and Thames river frontage, Vine Cottage enjoys a central location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Built in traditional style with modern comfort, the holiday cottage adjoins the owners’ home, with its own patio and garden. The lovely grounds offer coarse fishing, horse grazing and private nature walks, with golf, riding and sailing all available nearby. Historic Wallingford 1½ miles, and Oxford, Henley and Newbury Racecourse all around half an hour’s drive. Shops 1½ miles.

One step to entrance. Living/dining room with cast-iron wood-burner, sofa-bed (for +2) and French doors to patio. Spacious modern fitted kitchen with soft-tiled floor. Separate toilet. Open-tread stairs to first floor: Double and twin bedrooms with built in wardrobes, sloping ceilings. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

  10. Very good size living room, well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds but the best aspect is the position in the middle of the vineyard with beautiful views, kites hovering overhead and secure freedom for the dogs. It is superb for dog owners and we all hope to return next year. Oct 2009.

  12. Set in beautiful surroundings on an estate which is peaceful and relaxing to walk round. Close to the Thames and Thames pathway plenty of walks ideal for dogs. A relaxing place to stay and recharge do as little or as much as you wish, the wild life is plentiful Red Kites, Green Woodpeckers and Kingfishers to name but a few birds easily seen. Sept 2009.
  13. The views from the bedroom windows and ’living/dining room’ are rural and the environment is peaceful. One evening we watched a deer nibble some rose leaves from a rose shrub planted at the end of a row of vines.The location is very good, close to Wallingford, which turned out to be a pleasant and historical town. July 2009.
