This delightful former watermill is situated on the edge of the lovely village of Vetheuil, a village loved by Claude Monet from 1878 until 1881, where he painted over 150 of his works, including the church which can be seen from the bedroom windows.

Just 10 minutes away from Giverny, this lovely holiday home with five bedrooms enjoys its own large private garden, with huge terrace, and a stream that runs through the garden. It forms the wing of the discreet owner’s mill (the owner may occasionally stay overnight in his apartment after greeting guests).

Follow in the foot steps of Claude Monet, wander through the narrow roads, enjoy the cafés or walk along the Seine or catch the train into Paris and enjoy the sights and sounds of France’s capital. Paris is just an hour by car and the Château de Versailles is a 45-minute drive. Supermarket 8km.

Shops, café/bar and restaurant 300m.

Lower ground floor: Utility room. Ground floor: Dining room, kitchen, separate toilet. First floor: 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with toilet and basin. Second staircase to TV room. Second floor: 3 bedrooms: 1 double with basin, 2 twin with shared en-suite shower, toilet and basin.

Oil central heating, open fire in dining room, cot, highchair, colour TV, CD player, wi-fi, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, freezer, microwave, shared, enclosed shared garden, patio, garden furniture, barbecue, on street parking. Sorry, no pets. No smoking please. NB: There is a stream in the garden. There are spiral staircases. Maximum sleeps 8.

  2. We loved this house, there was plenty of space, it was full of character and the gardens were fantastic. The dining area in particular was great as we could all sit together to eat. It is an ideal base to visit Paris, less than an hours drive and good instructions for convenient parking, yet in beautiful surrounding in a quiet village. Aug 2011.
