This 18th century detached mill cottage has been carefully restored and retains most of its original millstones and machinery. This has been incorporated into the interior design, making this a very unusual property.

Visit Le Mans, 18 miles (30km), famous for the 24 hour race where you’ll find plenty of shops, culture and the buzz of a large historic city.

For the water enthusiast, 9.25 miles (15km) away there is a lake suitable for windsurfing and boating.

Shops 6.25 miles (10km), café/bar 0.6 miles (1km), restaurant 8 miles (13km).

Ground floor: Lounge/diner, kitchen/diner. First floor: Bathroom with shower over bath (no toilet), separate toilet and basin, 1 double bedroom, 2 single beds on mezzanine.

Oil central heating, open fire in lounge/diner (initial supply of fuel provided), cot, highchair, colour TV, hi-fi, telephone, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, lawned garden, terrace, garden furniture, barbecue, off road parking for 2 cars. One pet welcome. NB: Step to entrance. Unfenced river next to property.

  7. This is a superb get away from it all place. It has immense rustic charm and character. I would happily recommend anyone to stay here that wants peace and quiet. It was ideally placed for Le Mans and Beaumont Sur Sarthe. In the heat of the day the interior was cool. It has everything you could want. Only comment I would make is that the shower needs to have a higher fitting, otherwise you have to hold the shower head. The owners were extremely helpful and unobtrusive. July 2010.

  10. The accommodation was fantastic. The mill still retained all it’s workings and you could hear water running through the mill stream in the kitchen. The property is very unique and is in peaceful and pleasant countryside. The property is set in spacious grounds and is private with no near neighbours. The owners were very unobtrusive, we only saw them once, which is how we like it. The twin bedded room does not have a door to it, and this has to be accessed to reach the master bedroom and the toilet and bathroom, so is not ideal for people staying there who are not familiar with one another!   11. A very French feel to the accommodation, we were perfectly comfortable for the week and the open fire was a boon, both for us and the dogs. he garden was ideal for the dogs who enjoyed romping around it with great relish. Oct 2009.

  16. The Mill is a really charming, characterful conversion set in beautiful countryside. An ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle, but only a short drive to Le Mans, it’s a great base to explore the chateaux and villages of the surrounding regions. A real gem. July 2008.
