Property Description

Situated on the north west coast of the beautiful Rhins of Galloway Peninsula, 8 miles from Stranraer, this well appointed cottage enjoys panoramic views over the rolling countryside and across the Irish Channel. Ferries pass daily on the 90 minute crossing from Stranraer’s ferry port. Dally Bay is within 1 mile where seals and porpoises can be spotted, and accessed via the road or a footpath through fields. Sandy beaches, rocky coves, walking, golf, fishing, pony trekking and cycling nearby. Shop and pub 3 miles.

All on ground floor: Living room with wooden floor. Kitchen. Utility room. 2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 bunk. Shower room with walk-in shower and toilet.

Multi-fuel burner in living room (initial fuel included). Electric heaters and underfloor heating in bathroom included (£20 per week October-April). Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD and small library. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Dishwasher. Freezer. Enclosed lawned garden with sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (2 cars). Two pets welcome (sheep country). No smoking. NB: 3 steps in garden.

  1. The cottage and facilities were absolutely excellent. The owners had thought of absolutely everything you could possibly want and the welcome basket and eggs, milk and smoked salmon were such a lovely thought. Kate and David are a lovely couple and very helpful, we couldn’t have wished for more except better weather but that was understandable for the time of year. We were quite happy to spend a lot of time in the cottage, it was so cosy with the logs and coal burning. Dec 2012.

  6. The property is furnished to a very high standard. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. The lounge is furnished with a very comfortable suite. The shower is easy to use and efficient. This was the nicest self-catering cottage we have stayed at. It had everything we needed, was very clean and we were welcomed with cakes,fresh eggs and flowers. Very nice! April 2012.

  9. A lovely cosy cottage with views from the decking area out towards Belfast, some nice local walks but can be quite muddy. We had a great time even though we went out of the tourist season, the Mull of Galloway and Port Logan are well worth a visit on a clear day. Oct 2011.

  16. First class, comfortable, clean and everything you need for a great relaxing holiday. The owners have thought of everything. Great base for visiting the Galloway area with all its attractions, lots of good walks, Bruce’s Stone, Cream O’Galloway and Bladnock distillery worth a visit. All in all if your looking for a nice quiet holiday with time to relax then you cannot get much better. June 2011.

  18. Nothing has been forgotten to make your stay comfortable. You can really see why it has a gold award. The Mull of Gallaway is the best place to visit, we saw a large pod of porpoises there. March 2011.
  19. Overall finish of cottage was ver top spec, so many finishing touches. Arrival welcome pack was just the icing on the cake. Also owners had tastefully put some christmas lights and decs up. Dec 2010.
