Property Description

These two charming self contained ground floor apartments are set within 13 acres of wonderful gardens. They are both tastefully furnished with period furniture and make delightful holiday homes in this peaceful part of East Devon, just west of the quaint town of Axminster and on the Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Within easy driving of the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, with its stunning scenery. The popular seaside resorts of Lyme Regis, Beer, Seaton and Sidmouth are a must, along with many attractions, such as Pecorama at Beer, the famous Seaton and District Electric Tramway running along the Seaton Marshes with its abundance of birdlife all year round, and the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth. There are many historic houses and gardens to visit, or you can spend a few days enjoying the cathedral city of Exeter with its amazing cathedral, catacombs, shops and restaurants. Enjoy lovely country walks and village pubs in this unspoilt area, and on your return keen gardeners can wander around the 10 acres of gardens, which are open to the public during the summer. Shop, pub and restaurant 1.75 miles.

Open fire in living room included. Electricity included (£10per week September-October, February-April). Electric central heating and bed linen included. Digital TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Shared enclosed small lawned garden with patio and furniture. Shared 13-acre landscaped grounds. Parking (1 car). No smoking. NB: Swimming pool (not for guests’ use), lake and pond in grounds.

  1. This is our second year at this property and it is set in beautiful gardens which are open to the public, but we were allowed to wander round the gardens at any time. It is very peaceful and unbelievable variety of birds visit the bird table outside the window. Brilliant location for visiting Seaton, Sidmouth, Lyme Regis, Beer. Would recommend! June 2012.
  2. Beautifully located property. Owners helpful but not intrusive. Just the place to go to to relax. If the weather is bad, stay indoors (or have a cream tea in the garden conservatory). Absolutely loads of places to go to and explore in the near surrounding area. April 2012.

  4. The location of valley view was outstanding, the gardens were stunning, and 24 hour access to them was a big plus to our break. Aug 2011.
  5. The property is located within 10 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens of which we were able to take full advantage. It was a few miles from any town (Axminster) but this did not detract from the holiday. Parking in Axminster was very cheap compared to the coastal towns and we took full advantage of our bus passes to get around. If peace and quiet is what you are looking for then you could not find a better place. As the gardens are open to the public you get a few people walking past but they were not intrusive and we took advantage of the lovely cream tea at the tearooms before we left. All in all a lovely place to stay. July 2011.
  6. This is a comfortable apartment set in beautiful gardens just outside Axminster. Plenty of places to visit nearby - Seaton, Beer, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth, etc. We had a lovely holiday and hope to return. June 2011.
  7. Great location, set in a fabulous garden. Very friendly and welcoming from the owners. The Old Inn about 2 mile away was great for food etc. April 2011.
  8. Highest praise must go to this clean, comfortable apartment situated in the most beautiful gardens. There was plenty of room for two people and one small dog. The only thing that would make it perfect would be an over bath shower. This is certainly a property we look forward to returning to in the future. Aug 2010.
