These Grade ll listed, converted and beautifully refurbished barns still feature original beams and the wonderfully converted holiday farmhouses are set in an ideal location for walking and exploring beautiful Llyn. The picturesque Porth Dinllaen is just a short distance away, as is the beach at Porth Oer, or Whistling Sands, so called because the rounded grains of sand squeak when walked upon. For those with a love of the sea, a trip to Bardsey Island, reputedly the home of twenty thousand saints, is an exciting way to appreciate this coastline. Within easy reach are the towns of Aberdaron, Abersoch, Pwllheli, Criccieth with its castle perched almost on the beach or Porthmadog, home of the famous Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Steam Railways. Horse riding nearby. Ideal for golf. Shop and pub 3 miles. 25096, 24665 and 24666 can be booked together to accommodate up to 14 guests.

  1. A beautifully furnished and maintained cottage. Owner arrived on first evening to make sure we had everything we needed and told us to contact them immediately if there was any problem. Mobile contact at the cottage very difficult. In the directions it may be helpful if it was pointed out that after the last turn right the lane turning to the cottage is almost immediately left, we missed it the first time. Oct 2012.
  2. The cottage at Llain Fadren is a real gem. It is very well appointed and in a great if somewaht quiet location. There are plenty of beaches and pubs within half an hours drive. So if you are looking for a great place to explore the Llyn peninsula from this is it! March 2012.

An amazingly high standard of fittings and decoration - but we prefer to do our own cooking, and found a slight lack of utensils (no coffee filter, no casserole dish or fruit bowl or salad bowl and we could have used an extra saucepan - and there were only 2 of us!) but we loved the under - floor heating and so did the dogs!   7. We had a superb holiday, greatly helped by the fantastic weather. The cottage is precisely as described and as the photographs. It is a lovely, well presented and up-market cottage. It is situated down a quiet lane in a quiet village and is ideally located to visit all the beaches and attractions on the Llyn Penninsula. It has all the facilities needed and we would love to be able to return...Highly recommended! July 2011.
