Property Description

Breathtaking sea views of both the North and South Bays can be enjoyed from all rooms in this imposing Grade II listed Georgian town house which is peacefully situated on the headland under the shadow of Scarborough’s historic castle and opposite St Mary’s church, the final resting place of Anne Brontë. Whilst retaining many original features, the house has been refurbished to an exceptional standard, with hand-built oak kitchen, Travertine marble tiles, a magnificent raised bath and spectacular cliff top garden with 180-degree North Bay and castle views, and a hot tub. Positioned just a 5-minute walk from the heart of the town and a 10-minute walk from the beach, this makes a perfect holiday base for exploring Britain’s first seaside resort with its sandy, accredited North Bay beach, award-winning Sea Life Marine Sanctuary and working harbour with small fishing fleet, and South Beach where there are boat trips around the bay and a great choice of restaurants, bars and traditional seaside stalls. Music lovers can visit the Spa Complex, home of the only remaining seaside orchestra or Peasholm Park which offers open air concerts and a variety of family activities, and the famous Stephen Joseph Theatre, provides excellent evening entertainment. Further north along the Heritage coast lie the smugglers’ coves of Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes, and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park is easily accessible with its steam railway, quaint villages and stunning scenery. Shop and pub 220 yards.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. An amazing property, we had such a great time. Weather was amazing so the hot tub got used every day. Plenty of space for 10 adults an we thoroughly utilised every aspect. Only one point is buy plenty of toilet roll as not much is provided. We had a BBQ on the last day and it was great to have these facilities at hand. We are already talking about another visit later in the year. May 2012.
  2. Stayed at this property with 10 friends the week before christmas. Lovely house with nice views of both bays. Hot tub and Sauna ery clean and easy to use. Dec 2011.
  3. 10 of us stayed for a weekend in December 2011. The place was above our expectations in terms of quality of the rooms and space. The locations couldn’t have been better. We arrived in the dark and didn’t realise we’d get a sea view from both sides of the house until the next morning. Everything was in walking distance. The only down side was there were only doors on the bedrooms & bathrooms. The rules state dogs are not allowed in bedrooms or upstairs, which is fair enough but difficult when the main living area was open plan with no doors to stairs. Ensuring all bedroom doors were closed and keeping a close eye on him was about all we could do. Dec 2011.
  4. The house is absolutely fantastic. The setting is amazing and the views are out of this world. We booked it as a weekend break for 7 ladies to celebrate a birthday. It is not far from main amenities and the hot tub is just wonderful. The house itself is decorated fantastically and very big. A perfect getaway in my opinion. Sept 2011.
  5. The house is beautiful in an excellent location for both the North and South Bays. The views are spectacular. A beautiful place for a relaxing break. Noisy floorboards for the people in the basement though!!!!!! Aug 2011.
