Set in the unspoilt northern Lakes, and away from the mainstream tourist tracks, this comfortable single storey holiday cottage stands in the grounds of a delightful country house hotel which is set in 2 acres of grounds just 4 miles from Keswick on the outskirts of Bassenthwaite Lake. With breathtaking views over open countryside and the lake, which is ½ a mile away, plus use of the hotel’s restaurant, bar and games room you will be ensured of a relaxing stay with superb walking from the doorstep. Hotel with bar and restaurant 50 yards. Shops 5 miles.

All on ground floor: Living room with patio doors/dining room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with whirlpool bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

Underfloor central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Cot. High chair. Digital TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Patio. Shared 2-acres of hotel grounds with terrace, sitting-out area and furniture. Parking (1 car). Natural water supply from spring. No smoking. NB: There is a stream in the grounds.

  1. The hosts (at Ravenstone Manor, next to Trusmadoor) were welcoming and friendly and gave us a good discount on a truly delicious three-course meal with canapes, wine and coffee. Beautiful views of the mountains from the terrace. Skiddaw, Dodd Wood (where we saw ospreys and red squirrels) and Keswick (full of Fair Trade shops) are all within easy reach. June 2012.

With its excellent restaurant, very good value, with excellent food, also cosy lounge & bar & not forgetting the well equipped games room. Beautiful views from the cottage & walks from the door.   8. This was the best cottage we have ever been in. All facilites were excellent, it was so clean and welcoming. The wine was a lovely touch. We made use of the facilities in the hotel on site, including an evening meal. Views and walks from the cottage were amazing. We will go back! July 2011.
  9. Fantastic cottage, fully recommend afternoon tea in the hotel, and the walk down to the lake from opposite the end of the drive for the car park. Stunning views across the valley, really spectacular sunsets. Very comfortable cottage, fully equipped, jacuzzi bath was wonderful. April 2011.
  10. Trusmador was like a home from home as soon as we arrived. Well appointed and close to all amenities, yet far enough away to be a retreat. All mod cons included and the whirlpool bath and power shower were welcome facilities after a day of walking. Food in the hotel was excellent and the staff were very courtious and polite. Different meal requirements are well catered for without a show being made. Wine to welcome you on your first day was also a welcome and appreciated touch. Excellent cottage well worth visiting. Inside the fittings were modern, with everything we needed for a comfortable week with added luxuries of a spa bath and underfloor heating.
