Property Description

Bar and restaurant; The Village Inn within the grounds
Free use of tennis court at adjacent Rosecraddoc Manor
Use of fishing lake, rod licence required, charges apply

A selection of holiday bungalows in landscaped grounds, set in a wooded valley and divided by the River Seaton that flows from high up on the moor and down through the beautiful grounds of Rosecraddoc, this is an ideal location to tour the whole of Cornwall, South Devon and Dartmoor. South East Cornwall has some of the best and most varied countryside in the whole of the south west of England from the mists of Bodmin Moor, the creeks and valleys of the rivers to the secluded coves, sandy beaches and rocky outcrops of the coastline in the south. A 15-minute drive will take you to the spectacular South Cornwall Coastline and the famous fishing town of Looe. Just along the coast from Looe, nestles the tiny fishing village of Polperro with its harbour and narrow streets. There is a network of footpaths which pass through some of the most scenic countryside in the district, one of which leads directly from the village. The city of Plymouth is just 18 miles and is home to the award winning National Marine Aquarium. Our mild winters ensure that many plants are able to thrive in Cornwall and with this, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project are both within 25 miles. There are many historic houses to visit close by including Cotehele, Lanhydrock and Antony. Golf courses within 20 miles include the ’course that Jack built’ at St Mellion, Looe Bindown and Lanhydrock. Liskeard sports a leisure centre with swimming pool, squash, indoor bowling, badminton and fitness suite. From here you can take the lovely branch line which runs down to Looe through the wooded East Looe Valley. Nearby Siblyback Lake offers windsurfing, dinghy sailing, canoeing and fishing. Mount Edgcumbe Park with its 800 acres of parkland located on the Tamar estuary is also well worth a visit.
There is an on site bar and restaurant, The Village Inn, serving a wide range of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, and with an extensive menu including children’s meals. It also hosts a large TV screen, barbecues, patio area, pool room and children’s games, with live entertainment, quiz nights and karaoke held regularly during the high season.

All on ground floor: Living room with patio door/dining room. Kitchen. 3 bedrooms - 1 double, 2 single. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Parking (3 cars). Friday to Friday.

All properties: NSH, electric heaters and electricity by £1 coin meter. Bed linen included. Cot and high chair on request. Freeview TV. DVD. CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Fridge/freezer. Open plan garden with patio and furniture. Fishing within grounds, permit available. Shared games room with pool table. Shared tennis court. NB: There is an unfenced stream in the grounds, 20 yards from the properties.

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Great accommodation in a beautiful setting. Aug 2011.
  2. Lovely place to stay as out in the middle of no where so plenty of peace and quiet if thats what you like. The little holiday village is lovely and well run. Plenty of room within the house and the gardens. Nice as stream running along the back garden. Would recommend to anyone and we will be returning. June 2011.
  3. The bungalow is situated on a lovely site which includes a restaurant/pub, and is serviced by extremely friendly staff. The bungalow, heated by storage heaters, provided electric oven, fridge, microwave and free view tv, so was home from home. Liskard town centre, a 15-20 minute drive from the site, offers a large grocery store which can cater for all eventualities. Best sites to visit are the picuresque town of Looe, with its harbour and quaint shops, Barnstaple for its abundance of stores and Bude for its beautiful beach which is doggy friendly. To sum up, we could not have found better accommodation. May 2011.
  4. Great central location for exploring Cornwall. The Village Inn on site is highly recommended the menu is extensive and food is excellent quality, the staff are friendly and go the ’extra mile’ to make your visit an enjoyable one, including advice on places to visit and local knowledge. March 2011.
  5. We thought it was an exellent base to see many places around Cornwall. The bungalow was very good, and the village inn was excellent. Nov 2010.
  6. Very clean and comfortable, more spacious than it appeared online. Oct 2010.
  7. Lovely bungalow with bonus of free tennis courts. July 2010.
  8. Clean and comfortable, good size, well equipped, could find no faults at all. June 2010.
  9. Interior exactly as pictured on internet. Very spacious and clean. Everything we needed. June 2010.
  10. Clean adequate utensils. May 2010.
  11. Spotlessly clean and very well equiped kitchen. May 2010.
  12. Property was clean well furnished well equipped and quite spacious. Set in a very good location. Dec 2009.
  13. A fantastic cottage, clean and luxury and able to take our dog too! Great! April 2009.
  14. Nicely presented bungalow on a quiet, peaceful site. Most important is the dog friendly nature of the place. No complaints overall. Sept 2009.
  15. Very friendly staff, excellent meals at ’The Village Inn’ with a good selection of drinks available - all at a reasonable price. Initially when arriving we had the impression of a housing estate! However, the layout of the site ensured privacy and a peaceful holiday with unspoilt views to the rear and very little evidence of other holidaymakers. The accommodation was well equipped, well furnished and tidy (and easy to live in). July 2009.
  16. Property was compfortable, only problem was that no divide/fencing between garden area at rear of property. June 2009.
