Property Description

This delightful barn has been sympathetically converted and is set on the edge of the village of Warslow in the heart of the Peak National Park. Surrounded by pretty countryside, with wonderful unbroken views over the Manifold Valley and Thor’s Cave, Town End Barn provides comfortable detached accommodation for couples and small families alike. Excellent walks and footpaths from the door - the Manifold and Tissington cycling trails are nearby. Both Dovedale and the delightful village of Hartington are a short drive away. The market towns of Buxton, Bakewell and Ashbourne are 10-12 miles away. Shop 1½ miles, pub 350 yards.

Spiral staircase (accessed via twin bedroom) to first floor: Large, light and spacious beamed living room with wood-burning stove and wooden floor. Double bedroom with exposed stonework, TV, door with stone steps to garden, and en-suite shower room with toilet.

  1. The upstairs of this property is lovely - big open plan lounge with woodburner and large master bedroom with en suite shower. However, we took our 4 month old baby and therefore had to use the downstairs bathroom, which was very tired indeed. Undoubtedly clean, but a bit depressing every night! The kitchen is also tired, but again, clean and well stocked with utentils, crockery, etc. The location is excellent to explore the peak district - close to Leek, Buxton, Bakewell and Ashbourne, as well as the very accessible Tissington Trail and Dovedale for pushchair walking! Very quiet spot and lovely owners. If they updated the downstairs it would be a 5* spot. As it is, the downstairs really affected our time spent in the property. But if you were a couple alone I suppose you could forget it was there. Oct 2011.
  2. Wonderful property. If you want peace and quiet, this is the place for you. No passing traffic, unless you include the odd walker and a cow or two! And (wonder of wonders) no mobile phone signal - bliss! Sept 2011.
  3. This is a really lovely barn conversion in a great spot at the end of a lane with fantastic views down the Manifold valley. While the owners house is across the yard it doesn’t feel at all overlooked and has more than one private place to sit and drink a glass of wine in the sun. The owners were lovely; friendly but not intrusive. Its well placed for both exploring the Peaks as well as local towns and of course Alton Towers (which is only half an hour away max). The layout is good, with a very sunny lounge upstairs, and the only glitch we had was with the boiler (bit temperamental), but the owners were very helpful. Overall I’d recommend this to any small family (to 4) or couple! July 2011.
  4. Beautiful quiet rural location. Upstairs of the Barn well fitted out, light and airy with tranquil views. Well located for southern peaks towns and walks. Friendly helpful owners. Recommend the "Curlew Walk". Perhaps a king size bed would improve upstairs. July 2011.

  6. Loved the flowers in every room on arrival. The living room was particularly spacious and comfortable with loads of books and games available for evenings and wet days. Sept 2010.
  7. The cottage was well presented and ideally located for many public footpaths. The spacious hall and garage both provided areas to remove wet weather gear. The two bedrooms on separate floors offered privacy. Aug 2010.
  8. Michelle and Tim gave us a very warm welcome and made us feel special. The pictures do not do the property justice. The upstairs living and bedroom were lovely and made the most of the property and beautiful scenery. We were blessed with lovely sunny weather but the property will be equally attractive for a comfy winter break when the multi-fuel stove would get more use! May 2010.

  13. Set in lovely location - very rural providing peace and quiet. Great access to walks from the front door and within walking distance to the village and eateries. Old style barn building but country/modern inside - tastefully decorated, very pleasant. Sept 2009.
  14. Very good local pub with excellent food at reasonable prices. Cottage located close to many good walks. Ideally placed for access to Alton Towers (20mins) extra fridge/freezer in walk-in garage, great shower in en-suite. The cottage had great views over the valley with a bright open plan living area. We especially liked the pretty setting away from the road. Aug 2009.
