Property Description

Converted into a split level detached holiday bungalow from the former Gaisgill Station, light and airy, furnished to a very good standard, in Danish style. Adjacent to the owner’s home, between the Lakes and Dales National Parks (both within 20 minutes’ drive), in the Lune Valley, great for walking. The A685 is to the side of Gaisgill, with access to the Howgills. Settle to Carlisle rail link at Kirkby Stephen. Pub 1½ miles, shop 3 miles.

All on ground floor: Split level living/dining room with patio doors. 2 steps to 2 bedrooms: 1 double with patio doors and en-suite shower room, 1 twin. Kitchen. Bathroom with toilet.

Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. DVD. Stereo/CD. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Unfenced raised patio area with garden and furniture. Ample parking. No smoking.

  6. Amazing place a lot bigger than I thought it would be. The master bedroom and en suite were amazing. Some people have commented about the noise of the traffic but we live on a busy road so this was not a problem and the garden at the back of the property made up for this. March 2012.

  9. Great central location for Lakes and Dales. Well furnished cottage, very comfortable, well equipped and great birdwatching from the sofa. Highly recommend the Chocolate Factory in Orton - Hot Chocolate to die for (not to mention the chocolates themselves) also the Wensleydale Creamery in Lawes - if you love cheese - you will love this.   11. A lovely and comfortable property. It is well-maintained, with a beautiful garden and views. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Even the weather obliged. We visited the Lakes and the Dales and also went to the Pennines, to see High Force.The villages of Greystoke and Cartmel are also worth a visit. July 2011.
  12. The reason for ticking poor location is the proximity of the very busy and noisy A685 within metres of the front of the property. Morning rush hour started at 06:00 which made a poor start to the day and continued until late at night. The garden was beautiful but again unusable because of the noise level of the traffic. June 2011.
  13. Fantastic holiday, a good place to come back to after a day exploring the Lakes. The Waiting Room was just like home, very comfy and everything you needed. Very clean and the garden was lovely, it was good that it had a feeding station for the birds, it was lovely to see. Would go back there again. May 2011.

  15. First of all you need to alter the location of the cottage on the Google Earth web page as it is incorrect and extremely confusing. The cottage, The Waiting Rooms, was excellent, the owners being very helpful and welcoming and not at all intrusive. The cottage itself was about the best we have ever found and we would have no hesitation in returning in the future. The owners are to be complimented in the cottage and we hope you will pass on our comments to them confirming these points. July 2010.
