Property Description

This pretty holiday cottage is set near to the owners’ home on their working arable and cattle farm. It is within walking distance of the local inn and the Old Passage restaurant, renowned for its seafood. The detached barn conversion is the ideal base for circular riverside and country walks including the Severn Way. To reach the cottage there is a canal bridge to pass over at Frampton-on-Severn. Nearby is a marina cafe for watching the boating activity at Saul Junction. Slimbridge Wildfowl and Wetland Park is a few miles away, as is Cotswold Water Park. The Roman city of Bath, Regency Cheltenham and the cathedral cities of Bristol and Gloucester with historic docks are within easy driving distance. NT properties in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Wales. Golf nearby. Shop 4 miles, pub ½ mile.

  6. Furniture and fittings were of a high standard as was cleanliness. It was quiet and peaceful. A lovely touch was the excellent chocolate cake and refreshment on arrival and also a Christmas tree and decoration. Four walks around the area that were very pleasant as well as the Sharpness Canal. Easy distance to Slimbridge and other places. Dec 2011.

  11. The cottage was lovely, we were greeted with home baked Victoria sponge cake which was greatly appreciated. The property is located opposite to the farmhouse. The farmer and his family were extremely helpful, giving us recommendations of what to do both within the local vicinity as well as providing us with information about the Cotswolds. There were fig trees and orchards, with ripening fruit available to pick and eat. The cottage was located just a stone’s throw away from the beautiful River Severn and surrounded by the most breathtaking countryside. It was of a very high standard, we were lacking for nothing. There was a well equipped kitchen - all of which was of a very high spec. The bathroom was lovely with a walk in shower and fresh towels. The bed was a dream, comfortable, allowing for the best night’s sleep we had had in a long time. The cottage certainly merits the gold star merit award, I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone. Aug 2011.

  13. Our stay at the Tallet was lovely. The location was delightful, very peaceful but with a friendly pub just up the road! The cottage itself was gorgeous, spotlessly clean with everything in it that you could need. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it, especially for couples looking for a romantic break away. Joanne and Simon. July 2011.

  17. The quality of the furnishings and fittings could not be faulted. Warm radiators, a corner table lamp switched on and fantastic home made bluebrry cream cake in the fridge made a warm welcome. The location was excellent for walks and the farm activities were interesting to watch. Jan 2011.
