Sporting events close by include Cheltenham Festival and Gold Cup, Newbury Races, Silverstone and Blenheim International Horse Trials. Oxford 25 miles. Shop 2 miles, pub 1 mile.

  1. Absolutely fabulous! We had such a relaxing time in this beautiful part of the country. The owners gave us a warm welcome with a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge. The accommodation was stunning, contemporary and tasteful. Very cosy too. Oct 2012.
  2. We couldn’t fault the accommodation, nor the owner. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and told to treat the place as home. The Studio was absolutely wonderful - everything you could possibly need was available. The weather wasn’t great and we appreciated the warmth of the central heating. Logs were available for the wood burning stove. I can’t really say more than it’s the best self-catering accommodation we’ve ever stayed in and wouldn’t hesitate to return should we want to go back to the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. Neither would we hesitate to recommend it. May 2012.

  4. Booked The Studio based on the pictures on the website for a weekend in January, and it did not disappoint. The cottage is next to a working farm house but it could have been miles away. On arrival were greeted by the owner and shown through the modern spacious converted barn. Tea and coffee facilities provided and lovely bottle of wine provided by the host then we were left on our own. With the fire lit we settled back for a relaxing weekend. That night drove the short distance to The Clanfield Tavern in Clanfield just over a mile away. Fantastic setting and despite the service being a little slow the staff more that made up for the wait and would not put us off going back again. Back at the property we settled in for a quite drink, literally. The surroundings are so peaceful. The bedroom is situated above the bathroom/kitchen and with the fire blazing gets very HOT. Speaking of hot mind yourself on the towel rail in the bathroom as it has a bit of a bite!!! One place to visit if you have a bit of a sweet tooth in a bakery in the high street of Burford. Naughty and very nice. Decided to stay in the second night and order a take-away. This was the only problem we found. All the local take-away deliver to Clanfield but not to Grafton so in the end we had to pop out and get it ourselves from Carterton nearby. Overall though a fantastic stay and anyone staying will not be disappointed. Would recommend staying over winter as the cottage has a fantastic romantic feel with the woodburner but I’m sure it would be nice all year round. Will definitely consider staying again next winter.
