This marvellous detached former stable block is around 100 years old and built in local eye-catching red stone. The timber has been sourced locally from Lydney and adds to its wonderful warmth and character. The barn conversion itself is delightfully equipped and includes a surround sound home cinema system with 6ft screen. It is situated on the edge of Chepstow Park Wood (900 acres), in grounds of over 3 acres, and is located within the famous Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Shop 0.25 miles, pub 3 miles, restaurant 2 miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. First floor: 3 bedrooms: 1 double accessed via 1 twin, 1 bunk. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet (accessed via twin bedroom). Most rooms with beams.

Oil central heating and electricity included (£20per week October-April). Bed linen included. Cot. High chair. Satellite TV. DVD. Stereo/CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Shared garden and furniture. Portable barbecue. Parking (2 cars).

Customer Comments

Selected comment(s) from customers who have enjoyed staying at this property:
  1. Very well equipped if small kitchen, lovely big living room, comfortable and brilliant TV. Would help to know the bedrooms lead off each other! July 2012.
  2. The Stables is a lovely cottage in a really good location (although don’t rely on Sat nav to get you there!). The family at Trap Farm were extremely friendly and helpful. The bathroom set up is a bit strange, having to go through it to get to the double bedroom, but as we were with family it wasn’t a problem. It’s worth noting that there’s no mobile coverage or internet access there. March 2012.
  3. We have been bringing our family to the Wye valley for over 10 years, and whenever we can we stay at Trap Farm. Ourselves and the children love it there, we always get a warm welcome, and would always go back. Oct 2011.
  4. Beautiful cottage run by friendly and laid back family. Excellent views and near to village pub. May 2011.
  5. Good size bedrooms and living area. Warm and cosy. Excellent location, next to a road but we were not disturbed by it. Kitchen was very small and chilly. Decor was slightly dated but nice enough. Oct 2010.
  6. The owners were friendly and most helpful indeed. Accommodation was excellent. Sept 2010.
  7. The property was as stated. Very clean, tidy and in a quiet location. It was a very good base for exploring the surrounding area. The only down side was the two main bedrooms have a jack ’n ’jill bathroom, and you have to go through the bathroom to get to the main bedroom. This could be very awkward if you are a group of friends rather than a family. The owner and his wife were very friendly, all in all a lovely holiday. Aug 2010.
  8. Gery attractive, very well kept and in the middle of the area we wished to explore. June 2010.
  9. The area around the cottage is delightful and there were bunnies on the lawn every morning and evening. It was very well placed for visiting castles, beauty spots etc. and there were nice walks from the door.. Lovely location, well-placed for local attractions, and good sized accommodation for a reasonable price with comprehensive facilities. The owners were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The only slight downside was that it was a little on the dark side downstairs and you had to go through the bathroom to get to the double bedroom, but it wasn’t really a problem. Aug 2009.
  10. The owners were an absolute pleasure to chat to, were very helpful and accommodated all our requirements. They suggested various places where we could get everything we needed for our stay and helped us out with our poor attempt at a barbecue! The area was beautiful and we all had a brilliant time. May 2008.
  11. Lovely holiday - property blarger than anticipated. Excellent location. Oct 2008.
  12. Excellent shower, super bed and bedding. All home from home needs catered for. Nov 2007.
