Set in open countryside, in a secluded area this well equipped character holiday cottage provides an excellent base for exploring the National Park, the Heritage Coast, the market towns of Pickering and Helmsley and Flamingo Land theme park, which is only 30 minutes drive away. Castle Howard is 8 miles away, and just a short drive from the beautiful historic city of York. Shops 7 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

This property is close to the 2014 Tour de France route, come and experience the spectacular scenery for yourself and follow in the trail of some true cycling legends.

Lovely dog friendly property, excellent facilities for our 3 dogs, especially liked the ground floor double bedroom and the utility room which was a really useful bonus for muddy wellies and dog feeding purposes. Also, a very nice, secure, enclosed garden. Owner is delightful and charming. The cottage is detached but is very close to owners house, however, this was not a problem at all. Very quiet and beautiful location. Sept 2012.

  3. Nothing in the village, not even a pub - so make sure you remember to shop on way. As for location to get to see places - fantastic! York Park & Ride 15 mins away, Castle Howard almost on the doorstep & Scarborough & Whitby about an hour. June 2012.
  4. Excellent location with plenty to do and see in the surrounding areas. Comfortable accommodation. Very nice welcome from a charming landlady. Altogether an excellent week blessed by wonderfully warm weather. We found the local pubs very friendly and the food, on the whole, excellent. The dogs had a great time with lovely local walks.   5. An adorable barn conversion situated in a beautiful village. The owner was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. An ideal property too for our three dogs - it is so nice to find somewhere that allows us to take THREE pets and had a lovely enclosed garden for them. March 2012.
  6. The cottage exceeded our expectations. Very spacious and had a homely feel. Nice to have proper crockery and a good supply of kitchen utensils. The little extra touches of wine and homemade cake on arrival were a lovely thought. The owner could have not been more helpful. Good pubs nearby and york only a short distance. Sept 2011.
  7. Brilliant spacious accommodation, lovely gas fired BBQ outside in a lovely natural garden that was fully enclosed so dog could roam and we could relax, owner in adjacent house - friendly, helpful but not intrusive, plan to return as soon as possible. July 2011.
