Property Description

This attractive stone built holiday cottage, in the grounds of the owner’s home, is on the edge of the pretty village of Wookey Hole, famous for its spectacular caves and legendary home of the infamous Witch of Wookey. There are many leisure activities available locally, including pot-holing, hang gliding and mountain biking. There is also a huge choice of walks from the doorstep, including the Monarch’s Way and the Mendip Way. The town of Glastonbury is only a few miles away, with its 14th-century tower dominating the landscape of Glastonbury Tor. Shop, pub and restaurant 250 yards.

All on ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen with tiled floor. 2 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft), 1 twin. Wet room with toilet.

Gas underfloor central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair on request. Freeview TV. DVD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washing machine. Wi-fi.   2. The Stables was absolutely lovely. It had everything that you could think of. I am partially disabled so the fact that everything was on one floor with a ramp to property was a big plus and also the walk in wet room. The location was nice a quiet and the owner couldn’t have been more helpful. It was nice to see all the photo’s of the conversion as it was progressing. A very nice property in a lovely part of the country. June 2012.

  6. The Stables in Wookey Hole is a wonderful, large, comfortable, friendly place to take a holiday. The cottage is in the midst of great country walks and right next to Ebbor Gorge. It has a remote feel, but amenities such as a great restaurant/pub are within walking distance, and the small and scenic Cathedral City of Wells is a five minute drive away, offering good shopping of all sorts and a good supermarket. Cheddar and Glastonbury/Street are also within easy driving distance. The owner lives on the property; he was gracious and helpful throughout. The house itself is very well appointed, with a modern kitchen, laminate flooring, and a shower room. The power shower is a real luxury! Best, it is a dog friendly property...what better place to enjoy time with your pets? I can recommend this property highly, and I can truthfully say that we will go back when we get another short break. Oct 2011.

  11. This is a very good accommodation, the owner although living on site does not intrude on your privacy, but is there when needed & extremely helpful. Location is ideal for day visits around the area, plenty of places to get groceries (Tesco only 10 minutes away). Very pet friendly, laminate floor throughout so easy to keep clean. Aug 2011.

  14. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay as this property brought everything: total relaxation, an idyllic location and an owner who was incredibly helpful but in no way imposing. The Stables had a beautifully finished neutral decor throughout, and was located in a picturesque part of Somerset, yet close enough to all the local tourist spots. The owner really had thought of everything in making my husband and I feel welcome during our stay. His extensive knowledge of the area meant that we were able to explore the surroundings that other ’tourists’ may miss, including a fantastic folk festival in the local town of Priddy. I would happily go back here anytime and we have every intention of doing so. July 2011.
